Free Music Notes for Baby Come to Me: The Best of Regina Belle

Free Music Review: Essential
Hit: 5 Stars

Regina Belle is the most perfect representation of the word SOUL. The tracks on this compilation CD will leave Regina's fans hungry for more!
"Baby Come To Me - The very best of Regina Belle" is the right gift for jazz, R&B and soul fans, from the first track "Didn't I Blow Your Mind This Time" to the planetary mega-hit "A Whole New World" (from the Disney's movie 'Alladin '), which is rated as one of the most beautiful songs of the century... .
The best indicator of the quality of an album is how well it ages. Well, I have had this album for ten years , and it still does not seem stale.
Regina Belle has a voice that should have made her the superstar that Celine Dion is.
She also has the power and control that makes you think back to Aretha Franklin. The sincerity is there as well.
This is one of the albums I come back to over and over again.
Especially when I have been subjected to what is now trying to pass for R&B.
This great Lady is unique: deep, full-flavoured tones warm the deepest place in the soul on a candlelight evening for two or refresh those in love and remind them why they fell in love without being too corny.
Good lyrics,excellent musical arrangements.
A definite must buy!

Free Music Review: She has stolen my heart with this one !
Hit: 5 Stars

Regina Belle shot to fame in 1989 with her single, 'Baby Come To Me' -- from her album "Stay with Me" -- which was a perfect example of the jazz-tinged soul-pop balladry which she had been recording since the mid 1980's.
The title of this 'best of' collection was also Belle's worldwide hit single. The material featured here has been selected from her four studio albums which were recorded between 1987 and 1995.
With her own sophisticated brand of romantic soul, the acclaimed vocalist was one of the most popular contemporary singers of the eighties and nineties.
Once hailed as a female Luther Vandross, or as the less commercial side of Anita Baker, besides soul, her singing has roots in jazz and classic pop and she has Oscar and Grammy awards to her name.
This 'Best of' features a collection of the finest songs from all her albums including the platinum award winning smash 'A Whole New World'.
When Regina Belle wraps her velvety voice around a love song, the embrace is everlasting.
From a jazz whisper to a soulful serenade to a gospel shout, the gentle comforts of hope and faith are never far away.
Regina has soothed us with such standards as " Baby Come To Me" and " Make It Like It Was" and "If I Could".
Her dynamic duets with Peabo Bryson, Barry White and James "J.T." Taylor are also featured here.
They are stirring reminders that Regina has always been consistent, engaging, stylish and innovative. Never boring or derivative.
Please, listen also to her latest, unmissable masterpiece "Lazy Afternoon".

Free Music Review: Does not disappoint
Hit: 5 Stars

I recently saw Regina in concert which prompted me to buy her CD. Needless to say, like her performance, her CD did not disappoint!! Her vocal skills coupled with beautifully written lyics and music combine to provide a great listening experience. I am amazed that Regina has not gained more recognition as she is truly one of the great voices of her generation along with Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey & Anita Baker. Definitely a must buy for any fan of really good music.

Free Music Review: UNFAIRLY UNDERATED SINGER!
Hit: 5 Stars

With all the so-so mega millionaire singers in the industry, it shouldn't,but does, amaze me that this singer, who can belt a song out, the likes of Aretha (but smoother), Etta James (but more polished), Nancy Wilson (but more powerful); is so unfairly overlooked. Bad management perhaps?

I don't know but whatever the reasons this woman's career didn't escalate like Celine Dion's is beyond reasoning. Her recording of "If I Could" (initially sung beautifully by Fancy Nancy herself), alone, is reason enough to purchase this cd. "So Many Tears" and "Baby Come to Me" are close favoritesBaby Come to Me: The Best of Regina Belle.

Free Music Review: She never goes out of style.
Hit: 5 Stars

Her voice is superb and the songs are too.
My absolute favourite ones are "What Goes Around" and "If I Could".
"Someday We'll all Be Free/Save The Children" is another jazz classic and a true stunner and this cd gives you a good broad spectrum of her work.
She never goes out of style.
This exceptional album was released in 1997 and I'm just now getting around to buying it in..... 2007.
After just a few listenings I know all the songs and can't wait to hear them again.
There is such a range of emotion in these 14 songs from this multi-faceted, extremely talented and no-attitude performer, but the album as a whole flows beautifully.
Do yourself a favor and don't let any more time pass before you get it for yourself.
