Free Music Notes for Begin to HopeFree Music Review: Regina is the best!!! Hit: 5 StarsThink..a happy Tori Amos. Think..Fiona Apple at her proper weight level.
This is great music. And Regina Spektor should be a star. I can't wait to see what's next.
Free Music Review: Interesting if Odd lyrics Hit: 4 StarsI bought this as a gift for my cousin and she made me listen to it some. I liked the music, but thought the lyrics were just....odd.
Free Music Review: Regina Spektor - Begin to Hope Hit: 5 Stars2 CD's with bonus "Music Box." Disc One is GREAT! Disc Two is okay (except Music Box, which is an awesome song!)
Free Music Review: This is how it works Hit: 5 Stars"With it" sounds and imponderable utterances fill Regina Spektor's breakthrough smash and, overplayed or otherwise, "Fidelity" is a genuine sensation - bling brainy, emotionally satisfying and tunefully profound. With her quivering alto, fairytale poems, crystalline piano and eccentric electronics, Begin To Hope recalls the great Fiona Apple - bohemian artsongs with a touch of garage muscle. In her quieter moments, Spektor channels boomer chanteuses Rickie Lee Jones ("Samson"), Kate Bush ("20 Years of Snow"), Suzanne Vega ("Summer In The City") and Janis Ian ("Lady"), which accounts for her success with (us) geezers. The nowest cut, "Edit," references the Fab 4 with Xer insouciance, applies "light classical" flourishes to hiphop nuttiness. Charming. Exciting. I expect great things from this Soviet kitsch gal.
Free Music Review: spectaculous regina spektor Hit: 5 StarsThis music belongs to the short list of my favourites. Regina Spektor sings with passion, youth and emotion - and still is such a very good songwriter-singer-musician - I won't go anywhere without this disc.
