Free Music Notes for Southern Discomfert

Free Music Review: Perfect all around
Hit: 5 Stars

Rehab is one example of a great group that never made it big. Southern Discomfort, as a whole, is excellent, bringing the listener into the depths of addiction and pain. From that description, one might think it is depressing, but quite the opposite. Rehab always bring humor and intellegence into the mix of their music. Quick run down of the best of the album:

1.) Escape Intro: I hated this when I first listened to it, but it is a great way to introduce the album

2.) Hey Fred: Great track. Danny Boone sings most of the song with Brooks bringing in one rapped verse. This song has a reggae type beat, but still brings in a little bit of Southern feeling.

4.) Crazy People: Very Southern sound, good mixture of that with the beat. First time I ever heard the phrase "blowing grits".

6.) It Don't Matter: Great song describing the feeling of just giving up. Nice calm beat, instant classic.

8.) Drinking Problem: Brings the listener further into the mind of a addict. Steaknife brings in great raps.

11.) Sitting at a Bar: Best drinking song ever.

14.) Thinkin' Again: Danny's voice is beautiful on this track, intellegent lyrics, one of the greatest.

Rehab did do better on parts of their second unreleased cd, but for being the only one that was released, it shows their individuality. Southern rap at its greatest.

Free Music Review: Right On. All Party People must Purchase at Once.
Hit: 5 Stars

These guys are from Warner Robbins, GA and are right up your ally if you like to have a great time and cut loose once in a while or all the time. The Southern Discomfort is from a couple of years ago but I think you find it entertaining at the very least. I do not have a favorite on either album. Some songs are a hit to my ears from the get go while others take a few hears to understand them and then they take hold, gripping your auditory senses, not willing to ever let go. These song characteristics makes, in my opinion, a complete album from start to finish providing the listener with new and fresh tunes through out the maturation of the album. The kind you can put in and not have to skip songs you do not appreciate, but rather listen to them on all play over and over again.
This Southern Discomfort Album has a multimedia .mov movie that is really really FUN. To all that read this review purchase this album and their newest release 'Grafitti the World' for two rock solid purchases you will never regret.

Free Music Review: Crazy Town, with soul...
Hit: 5 Stars

My friend recommended Rehab with the simple description: "it's like Crazy Town, with soul..." At the time Crazy Town's first and only single 'Butterfly' was blowing up and sure I liked it, at first. It certainly lacked that certain something. I tried a little Rehab and haven't been the same since. Some may dismiss Rehab as an afterthought thinking it's a simple band using expletive lyrics and drug talk to sell a couple records. The two main members of the band actually met in rehab and formed the group due to their love of music and we are all the better for it. These two are inexplainably musically talented, they switch styles practically every song and every song is a near masterpiece. Those who like folk, country, rap, hard rock, alt rock, nearly anything can get into Rehab. Check out 'It Don't Matter' the duo's only single, 'Rattle My Cage', 'Stormchaser', 'More Like You' and 'Miss Jones' and you will get a good idea of what Rehab has in store.

Free Music Review: Make that 5 1/2 stars!!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Please do not look over my review as someone who gives a 5 star rating to every CD that I buy. This is the first CD that I have ever given 5 stars to. This CD is absolutely amazing. Finally a CD that doesn't dissapoint me. EVERY SINGLE SONG ON THIS CD IS EXTREMELY ENJOYABLE. I can't stress enough for you to buy this CD. Seriously, I would give every single song 5 stars except for Hey Fred and I would give it 4 stars. If this CD gets a chance on the radio it could very well be spoken in the same breath as Appetite for Destruction, Ten, The Chronic.... you get the picture. The great thing about this CD is that it is the perfect blend of Music; Rock, Rap, Country, Metal, Jazz..you name it and it is on here. Do yourself a favor and go buy this CD and you can thank me later. They succeed where Kid Rock, Eminem, and others have been so closed but to me failed. Just listen to it and you WILL AGREE.

Free Music Review: I normally don't like rap type stuff but this is good
Hit: 5 Stars

Let me first say that I despise the rap-rock kind of "music". I think it is indescribably terrible and usually hate anything that has to do with it. This isn't exactly rap-rock in the conventional form but there is a rapper and a singer that alternate so I guess if I had to classify it that's what it would be. I first heard Rehab on the radio and got the cd the next day. I have listened to it for months now and still like it just as much. They mix the singing and the rapping really well. Both are very talented and also write deep lyrics about real issues like substance abuse, and are especially meaningful if you can relate to them. I don't know why people keep mentioning ICP and KMK. This group has ten times more talent than both of those combined. It's a great cd and I definately recommend it.
