Free Music Notes for Murmur AlbumFree Music Review: Good album, but overrated Hit: 3 Stars
There is no doubt that "Murmur" is a quality effort. "Radio Free Europe" and "Talk About the Passion" are the two most talked- up tracks from this. But the idea that VH1 would rank this album in the Top 100 of all time is rediculous. It is true that R.E.M. has/had a sound all their own, and I have collected most of their recordings over the years. But the idea that this record stacks up to the likes of "Synchronicity" by the Police or "The Joshua Tree" by U2 is laughable. It seems like this record gets much attention because it was the first released by this Athens, Georgia quartet.
