Free Music Review: The Tango 5 Stars

RENT--- A prime example of the struggle less fortunate young adults and teens deal with on a day to day basis in the lonely and cold streets of New York City. From diseases to homosexuality, this musical clearly states how the world can be the cruelest place to dwell, yet the only vice people can depend on. The risky lyrics and vulgar movements only add to the power and excitement this play possesses. The loud , heart racing music makes it all the more entertaining for anyone of any age. I would reccomend this sound track to anyone with an open mind and the maturity to except the way of life for other people. The issues presented, most people would consder as abnormal are subjected as if it were the way of life for everyone. The emothion, talent, and enthusiasm portrayed by the performers is more thrilling then any musical I've ever seen. I have beeen privileged (no doubt) to observe this masterpeice and I urge you to do the same. Let this score lay among the greats, for I believe it carries the qualities of one of the greatest shows ever made.

Free Music Review: INSPIRING, INCREDIBLE, UNBELIEVABLE
Hit: 5 Stars

If there is anyone reading this review who is uncertain about purchasing the soundtrack to Rent, WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU CONFUSED ABOUT?!?! What is holding you back?? Rent is the most touching and hip musical to electrify Broadway's normally quite "tame" stage. Focusing on eight main characters: Roger, Mark, Mimi, Angel, Tom Collins, Maureen, Joanne, and Benny, Rent is a truly amazing play. Though very different than plays normally seen in New York, Rent is nothing less than a masterpiece. Rent is about being young, being scared, and being in trouble; Having hope in today and faith in tomorrow. It's about living each day to the fullest and making a mark in the world. If you haven't witnessed the best musical ever, go see it NOW. If you won't be able to see it anytime soon, then definitely pick up the double cd cast recording. The music is utterly fantastic. Some highlights include: One Song Glory, Out Tonight, La Vie Boheme, of course Seasons Of Love, and What You Own. And remember: No Day But Today!! Viva La Vie Boheme. Viva RENT!!!

Free Music Review: Possibly the greatest CD ever!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

This show has earned every ounce of hype it's gotten. I cannot say enough about this music!! There are already so many reviews that explain why this cd is so great, and I can only agree. RENT is the best thing that ever happened to Broadway, and it's still the best show playing in NYC (still going strong after 8 years!)While nothing can beat seeing a live performance, this cd captures the emotions you feel in the theatre. It's interesting, because a lot of newer fans don't like this cd, and prefer to see/hear the current cast on stage. While the Broadway cast is amazing, the OBC had a chemistry that was out of this world. Daphne Rubin-Vega (Mimi) has gotten critisism for her voice compared to other Mimis, but, this woman is amazing and raw and edgy and i'm so glad shes on this recording! Adam Pascal has the sexiest voice EVER, and his voice alone is worth the price of the cd. Well, I couldramble on forever about how amazing RENT is, but, i'll just end by saying: if you don't have this cd already, what are you waiting for!? you won't be dissapointed!!

Free Music Review: Don't wait
Hit: 5 Stars

I don't think I need to tell you how amazing this musical is... reading any other review could give you that insight. The songs, the vocal talent, the vibrant life... I just want to tell any of you still on the fence to BUY THIS CD! You haven't seen the musical yet? You'll want to become acquainted with the words and storyline so you can more fully enjoy the performance. Plus, if you are like me, you may live in an area that won't be getting the road show anytime soon. This CD really could stand alone if need be. You've already seen the musical? Then you know you want the music and the handy words included to better remember that experience. You don't like musicals? This non-traditional musical speaks on contemporary and real topics in an appealing and often humorous way. You like the traditional musical? The music, pacing, and performers are wonderful. The differences should not deter anyone. I strongly recommend this musical to anyone with a love of musicals, a strong moral conscience, or just a curiousity towards the hype.

Free Music Review: Having Trouble with YOUR "Rent?"
Hit: 5 Stars

I don't think rock music is my favorite kind of music. I used to love saying that to my friends who were SOOOOOO into rock. And then I saw "Rent." 5 times. And then I bought the album. and I listened to it. Much more than 5 times. And now the motion picture is coming out with many of the original cast members. I can't wait. Puccini would probably love the way Jonathan Larson brought "La Boheme" into the twentieth century. Some fragments of Puccini are still there, too. An apt tribute to an operatic composer. But most of the music is new, fresh, and VERY exciting. The cast is very very talented. Outstanding are Idina Menzel as Maureen (later to shine as Elphaba in "Wicked") and Anthony Rapp as Mark. His music is so difficult I sometimes wonder how long it took him to learn it. Wilson Jermaine Heredia is also extraordinary as Angel. And how can anyone listen to "Seasons of Love" without tearing up? Aids is still with us, people. Not as new and newsworthy as it once was, but still a killer. "Rent" is wonderful.
