Free Music Notes for Rent (2005 Movie Soundtrack)

Free Music Review: Words can not discribe my love for this soundtrack!
Hit: 5 Stars

For every movie that comes out there is a lousy soundtrack that comes to fallow. Since Rent is based on a Broadway play I was so excited to get it. I went out that day a bought it. I listened to it about six or seven times and loved every song. Each song made me think out life and how I should be living it. This soundtrack was like any other. It was extraordinary and absolutely fabulous. This soundtrack will stay in my collection for years to come and will stay in my heart for the rest of my life. Everyone who is anyone should go out and buy this soundtrack. This is no any other soundtrack to any other movie; this is a soundtrack to life. The movie Rent has showed me that I must live everyday like it is my last. Please go out and buy the soundtrack Rent and fall in love with New York all over again.

Free Music Review: Don't Rent, Buy!
Hit: 5 Stars

What more is there to say? The Rent Motion Picture Soundtrack is everything a RentHead could ask for.

The orchestrations are more complex, but they only serve to make the songs better.

Our favorite actors have only matured and improved (especially Martin and Menzel). Give a listen to anything Collins sings, he sounds almost like a different person!

Rosario Dawson fills Daphne Ruben Vega's shoes, and then rips them apart. Her low, sexy voice seems, to me, like the ideal Mimi sound.

While many songs have been cut (voice mails, on the streets) what remains is tight, beautiful, resonant, and newer.

Rent the Motion Picture Soundtrack serves as a fine memory to what once was, and a very suitable step forward into the next generation.

Free Music Review: Better than Broadway Recording? Absolutely.....
Hit: 5 Stars

Yes. RENT is the epitome of a Broadway musical. The movie? Great. The soundtrack? Better than the movie itself. Lets face it, the motion-picture soundtrack blows the original cast recording out of the water, and then some. Tracie Thoms and Rosario Dawson are FANTASTIC. Daphne Rubin-Vega(original Mimi) and Fredi Walker(original Joanne) just cant compare to the newbies. As for the rest of the original cast, (who are on the soundtrack and in the movie)they are sounding better than ever. If i had to pick a favorite song, it would have to be either "Another Day" or "Rent". hell i love all of them. Buy the movie, buy the soundtrack (I would recomend getting the motion-picture soundtrack instead of the highlight from the motion picture soundtrack) It really is an awesome musical. NO DAY BUT TODAY !

Free Music Review: Great job
Hit: 5 Stars

All who were involved in this cd should be so happy and proud - it is a great adaptation of the OBC musical. The arrangements are more powerful and will probably translate better on film than the original recording - stage and film are different mediums.

Some criticism: it has lost some power at great moments; some of the performers sound very tired, and Rosario Dawson's vocals are definitely altered and mixed. "Christmas Bells" is terribly missed, but songs like "What You Own" and "Rent are awesome. Anthony and Adam sound great together.

Tracie Thoms and Jesse Martin are as good as gold - "Sante Fe" is so charming, and anything that Thoms sings sounds wonderful.

Definitely worth the purchase - just different than the OBC for Broadway.

Free Music Review: Great CD, Great Musical - Great Movie???
Hit: 5 Stars

I was a little hesitant buying this cd. I own the broadway album and I was not sure if it was different enough to warrant the money spent. For me, after listening to it, it was worth it. The tracks are the same, although some shortened for the film. The actors have made little tweeks to some of the songs. The instrumental is 100% better than the broadway soundtrack. Love Heals is sure to be a hit.

Is it better than the broadway soundtrack - I can't say that, but it is different. Not a lot, but if you listen to the broadway album as much as I do, you will definately notice the differences.
If the soundtrack is any indication of how the movie is going to be - I CAN'T Wait! It will be great!
