Free Music Review: Some great renditions, some mediocre

When I first heard Buena Vista's rendition of "Clocks" on the radio earlier this year, it drew me in I was immediately intrigued by the idea of this album. I love Cuban salsa, and many of the fusions are really excellent, such as Clocks, Dancing Shoes, One Step Too Far, and Modern Way. The Spanish-sung tracks that really shine are Ain No Corrida, Fragilidad, and The Dark of the Matinee. For a compilation album, that's a pretty substantial list. The others are okay, nothing special -- the "remixed" Jack Johnson and Maroon 5 tracks don't meld as well, but the original songs are so good they kindof make up for what's lacking in the Cuban aspect of the pieces. Maybe it's my age, but some of the classic songs just end up sounding boring and dated, and I wasn't that impressed with the vocals on many of the other tracks. Overall, I'm glad I bought the CD, the proceeds benefiting our environment, instead of picking and choosing tracks off of iTunes. Free Music Review: Great CD - Buy with an added value

We played this at a party last night and everyone wanted to know who it was! Great latin music with familiar artists. Will play it at our wedding in Mexico in a couple of weeks. Some profits go to environmental causes. Fantastic! Free Music Review: Ignore the bad reviews

Ignore the bad reviews on this album. This is album is for a good cause (the earth) and there are enough excellent numbers on here to deserve five stars. Check out the packaging materials- recycled and smart. Come on people- what's not to like? OK- some of the songs are not my favorite but when I play this at work- some people love the songs that I don't like (for some reason the Artic Monkey song can work my nerves- but it is growing on me). The Dido and Faithless is another one my co-worker liked. You do get a taste of the classic musica cubana too. Great fusion CD- not traditional - but who cares?Free Music Review: I dare you to sit still while listening to this!

Wow, what a great "smash up" between some of my favorite songs and a cuban beat. Listening to it at work makes me dance in my chair. I think it would be impossible not to move while listening to this. We played it at a party recently and it was a big hit. Free Music Review: MUSIC LOVERS DREAM

This is one of the best musical arrangements cd's I've heard, it has the beautiful soul of the afro Cuban music, with the beat of some of Todays best artists, the interpretations on the selected themes are great, and once you listen to it, you wont be able to put it down, as if it wasnt enough, its for a good cause. It has amongst other Cuban greats Mr Ferrer, so what else can I say? ohh Bono is in there too :)
