Free Music Review: Wonderfully different than the Crowes...

I'm a huge fan of the Black Crowes. This is most certainly not the Crowes, and that's not at all a bad thing. Chris and Rich are complimentary (musically) and added to what we knew as the Black Crowes. Their hiatus may have been the best thing for the band. It certainly gave each of them the freedom to grow in the ways they felt constrained by their former band and this album really shows that growth on Rich's part, no, he does not have nearly the vocal presence as his brother, but give the man credit for exploring what he is capable of! He's done a wonderful job with this album, and I'd definately reccomend it to guitar lovers and anyone seeking contemporary music WORTH listening to... just don't expect the Crowes, or you'll be disappointed, it's a whole new show.Free Music Review: Rich Opens A New Door

If you like the Black Crowes, you don't know what you're missing until you hear Rich's solo album 'Paper'. Complete with amazing guitar licks and a mellow sound, Rich brings a hint of delicate genius to the music scene that I haven't seen since Nick Drake. Rich mixes it up a bit, using mostly electric guitar on the first half and acoustic on the second half. His song writing is excellent and is poignantly accented by each and every note on the album.
Three tracks I really suggest a good listening to are: #2- Enemy, #3 Leave it Alone and #5- Forgiven Song.

Paper is the BEST new CD for '04, IMO. Hands down! Rich is a one man show and it is the best show on earth! I caught two of his shows this summer and hope to see him again in '05! Paper is a masterpeace of blues and Rock N' Roll which this world has been missing since The Crowes split up. This album is certainly different than most of The Crowes stuff but different in a great way. It is Rich up close and guitar driven through and through. THIS ALBUM IS AWESOME. I AM ONE OF THE BLACK CROWES BIGGEST FANS AND I HAVE TO SAY THIS CD GETS MUCH PLAY! IT'S BEEN #2 IN MY CD CHANGER FOR OVER A YEAR AND I WOULDNT CONSIDER TAKING IT OUT. I LITERALLY JAM IT EVERYDAY. YESTERDAY I SAW YOU AND ENEMY ARE JUST TWO OF THE AWESOME TRACKS!Free Music Review: Great Album

I picked up this album today and i cannot get enough of it. Rich does not have the strong vocal presence as his brother Chris but the guitar work is incredible. This album is worth the money and is one i will forever.
