Free Music Review: Great new CD!
Hit: 5 Stars

Love this new Rick Springfield album. I grew up as a teen listening to RS and loved so many of his songs; 20 years later, I introduced his old music to my 5 y/o son.....and he adores his old songs, too. So we were pleasantly surprised to find that RS was releasing this new CD, and so when we couldn't find it in a store (one cashier actually asked me if I was picking up film in the name of Rick Springfield when I asked if they had Rick Springfield "in".....that crashed my world when I realized they had no clue who he was)...Anyhow, I was thrilled that I actually LIKE the music of this new CD. There are some great songs on here...and they stay in your head just like the old ones tend to do. His voice sounds great, I love how they remind me of his old work, but are still a bit modern. My only complaint is that he swears a few times so I have to sing over him loudly so that my 5 y/o doesn't hear the "bad" words!

Totally worth the price...and if you are a RS fan, you will really enjoy listening to this new collection of songs.

Also, I do not typically leave F/B for things on Amazon I've purchased, but made the effort to do so with this CD.

Free Music Review: Bonus Track Info
Hit: 5 Stars

Hey, give this 5 stars just because it's Rick and he is still putting out better music than 99% of what's on radio nowadays. Just to address some of the mentioned quabble about bonus tracks (with which I agree). We will (here in the US) still have access to all the bonus tracks. All hard copies of the CDs sold domestically include a link inside whereby you can download, for free, the studio version of "Who Killed Rock N Roll." The Live version is still available on iTunes for .99 cents. If you download the album through iTunes, you get "Pretty Little Mess" as a bonus track, which ticks me off 'cause I got hard copy already, but love the snippet I've heard of this song, but now, I have to pay another $10.00 since it's only available on iTunes with the purchase of entire CD. Lastly, if you purchase your CD from Best Buy, you also get, "My Generation" - WHO Cover, and an Acoustic Version of "Jessie's Girl" as bonus tracks. So bottom line ... good news is, you can get all the bonus tracks here in the US. Bad news is, you'll have to buy the CD three times...

Free Music Review: FANTASTIC!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Can't say enough great things about VIO!
This is probably his best work since "Rock Of Life" as the writing is top notch, the songs have a great edge and Rick's voice sounds great for his age.
Although "What's Victoria's Secret" is a terrific single, my personal favorites are "Time Stand Still" (it ROCKS!) as well as "3 Warning Shots" (I hope John Lennon's killer, Mark Chapman, hears this song since it's all about him)and the two songs for Rick's fan who passed away ("I'll Miss That Someday" and "Saint Sahara"). Like my personal favorite Rick Springfield song "My Father's Chair", Rick can certainly take emotional experiences and touch others thorugh his music.
When you listen to the album as a whole, it is extremely cohesive and just a brilliant and contemporary work from someone who's been in the business as long as Rick.
I'm not the typical Rick Sprinfield fan (I'm a guy after all.. hahaha). But I can tell you that anyone who likes good music should check this out. You won't be dissapointed!

Free Music Review: Vital, refreshing, re-invented Rick. Great disc!
Hit: 5 Stars

Rick Springfield has reinvented himself yet again. I remember when he was the teenybopper heartthrob for the prepubescent girls - and so us young guys just couldn't care less... However, when his highly underrated 1976 LP "Wait For Night" [with Nigel Olsson and the late Dee Murray] came out - I realized that this guy was serious about music, and could create some compelling art. He's actually a hell of a guitarist and quite a pianist as well. Still, it took 5 years more for him to achieve the prominence that he deserved after "Jessie's Girl" ascended to the top of Billboard's Hot 100. Public tastes are fickle and music changes with fashion. Many artists, I am sure, become confused about how to appeal to the masses that once were with them... Rick has hit the target once again and is on fire with this disc. Hopefully enough will hear and buy it and we'll get to see Rick out on tour again soon in the neighborhood! Listen to the samples! They convinced me to grab this one. Rock on, Rick!

Free Music Review: Rick's best album in decades!
Hit: 5 Stars

Since I absolutely LOVE What's Victoria's Secret (just a brilliant song --I can't get it out of my head) I pre-ordered the CD. I kept checking the mailbox every half hour and then it arrived! I "liked" the rest of the album my very first play through and couldn't keep my head from bopping to the music. By the second play through I was "IN LOVE" with the WHOLE album and was out of my chair dancing to some of the other infectious songs: One Passenger, Time Stands Still and Mr. PC (note that they are very "current" in sound). If you are a Beatles fan, you'll love "She" and "Nothing is Ever Lost". Every song on this album is great. I haven't played his albums all the way through since the first two, and I'm on round five on this one in just the first day. A MUST BUY even for the casual Rick fan - its awesome music! PS Download "Who Killed Rock and Roll" - his single from 2007 - it's also amazing.
