Rick has gone back to his roots with this one. Feels a bit like Working Class Dog, but his style has matured. With Shock/Denial/Anger/Acceptance he ventured into much harder, darker material (my favorite album to date), and with The Day After Yesterday he got a bit softer than his usual style. Venus In Overdrive is 110% Rick Springfield sound, and it's **great**. Besides the title track, my favorite track is "I'll Miss That Someday". If you were waiting for this CD because you saw Rick on General Hospital - trust me - you owe it to yourself to go back and get not only this CD, but his last four.Free Music Review: Springfield is stronger than ever

I have been a fan of Rick Springfield since he put out Working class dog. I have to say that this is an excellent CD. He is back on the top of his game and his collaboration with Matt Bissonette is obviously very productive. I cannot believe the diversity of sound on this CD and at the same time joining clever and thoughtful lyrics in all the songs. You just don't get that often these days. A trukly great Rock album by two pros on the top of their game.
Springfield has not reivented himself, but it definitely is a re-birth of sorts. If you are a Rick Springfield fan, you will be extatic at how good he still is and if you are a new fan, what a treat to discover this guy's career going back to the early eighties.
Buy it and listen to it over and over again as I do.

This is an amazing CD! I love the lyrics ("I'll Miss That Someday" is SO funny yet serious...got to listen to it...definately a song I can relate to...lol)! I had to buy an additional CD because my teenaged daughter liked the music so much. She usually doesn't listen to "my music". However, when I had General Hospital on...I'm not usually off so I was delighted to know that I was able to witness when Rick Springfield preformed his song...My daughter came out of her room (amazing within itself...lol) and sat down to listen to this song. She even sang some of the words to some of her friends when she was talking and texting on her cell phone. I would definately encourage anyone who hasn't ordered this CD to do so...you won't regret it. (My daughter also gives it a five star rating!)Free Music Review: Aaaahhhhh!

IF you love Rick....why are you even reading the reviews?! Just trust that it's Rick and buy it!! He just keeps gettin' better n better!
If you're not familiar with Rick Springfield....it's a journey you won't regret taking. Then buy the rest of his work as well. Rick Springfield is an amazingly talented and versatile artist. He has stood, and continues to stand the tests of a ruthless industry. Rick puts his heart and guts into his work and this is no exception! Plus he loves his fans and they (I) love him....but that's a whole other review....This is a much anticipated work and a fabulous concert in the waiting!

I have to say Rick has most certainly out done himself with this CD. It covers such a broad range and has a very diverse sound, something for everyone. I absolutely LOVE Victoria's Secret...you will be listening to this song a few times before you go on to the next track...it has that Jesse's Girl sound and takes me back. I'll Miss That Someday is a song i can relate too. Venus In Overdrive and Mr PC have a sound that will have you hitting the repeat button on the CD player. There are so many good songs on here and of course can't forget the love song She...very touching.
If you are a fan this CD is a must!!!!!!!!! You will listen over and over again. I have and just got it less then 24 hours ago.
