Free Music Notes for Venus in OverdriveFree Music Review: It isn't a comeback, he hasn't been gone! Hit: 5 Stars
This is a great CD! I am enjoying the whole CD but especially find myself drawn to Oblivious and One Passenger. For those talking about what a comeback and such this isn't his first CD since the Jessie's Girl days. He has had lots of good stuff over the years (as well as touring, go see him live, like nothing you've experienced!). Check out S/D/A/A from 2004. It is one of my top 3 CDs EVER! Rick has been writing and performing his wonderful music all these years and I do hope with this he gets the recognition he so deserves as a fantastic artist.
Free Music Review: simply awesome Hit: 5 Stars
this was a total surprise for me...I thought getting this would be safe but it really SHOOK ME UP!!!! I think Rick has really kept it current and has stepped out of what's expected with this one. His lyrics are really heartfelt, and he shows his depth and what he's been trying to prove all these years-HE IS MORE THAN A PRETTY FACE. Any questions??? I believe he still HAS IT, and this album does not disappoint. Get it and you will sing your heart out. Thank you, Rick, you are the BEST and thanks for making great music. See you in Biloxi...XOXO Barbara Jean L.
Free Music Review: VENUS REALLY SHINES!! Hit: 5 Stars
Wow!!! What a great new cd from Rick. He really proves what a great singer and songwriter he really is and I am so glad he is back!! So many great inspiring songs which have deep meaning, as well as great rocking rhythms. I just love the repeating riff in Venus In Overdrive, very catchy. So hard to pick a favorite because they are all so good. And make sure to pop the cd in your computer and watch the bonus videos and download "Who Killed Rock and Roll" too. It's a great song and you can learn much more about the songs and Rick from the videos.
Free Music Review: Excellent! Hit: 5 Stars
I sort-of lost touch with Rick Springfield's stuff after "Rock of Life." I heard he was coming to town so we decided to go and were blown away by how great the band sounds, how great the new album is, and what a great show he still puts on! I particularly like "I'll Miss That Someday," "Saint Sahara" and "Venus In Overdrive," but "Time Stand Still" and "One Passenger" are also great. I don't think there's a song on there that I don't like and that is virtually unheard of these days. I definitely recommend this album!
Free Music Review: I'm in Overdrive...... Hit: 5 Stars
God Bless Rick Springfield! VIO has such diversity, in lyric and in tempo, he makes you want to rock out, think about life, and then seduces you. His voice in I'll Miss That Someday sounds like he's standing right next to you at the concert, and it deserves radio play. Mr PC and 3 Warning Shots both have clever lyrics and make you want to crank up the volume. The energy in this CD is intense. It is also a beautiful tribute to Sahara, one of Rick's favorite fans. Definitely add it to your shopping cart now!
