Free Music Notes for Written in Rock: The Rick Springfield AnthologyFree Music Review: Finally, a decent Springfield compilation cd... Hit: 5 Stars
Past compilations were very lacking... This is a great collection of hits. Human Touch, Love Somebody, Affair of the Heart, Souls, Rock of Life & Free are faves of mine... I agree w/ Todd (a review below) that Bruce should have been included. It would have made this compilation truly complete.
This collection helps to show why he's been called the "Father of Power Pop" by some critics (inspiring other recording artists to this very day)... & why his music still connects to so many fans out there (who still attend his awesome, energetic concerts).
The man ROCKS!
Take care & God bless...

Free Music Review: My Favorite Hit: 5 Stars
This is an awesome collection of Rick Springfield's work which spans the length of his career. If you jumped on the Rick Springfield bandwagon in the '80s or later, you'll be introduced to some of his earlier music, sang in a cute Aussie accent! The whole album is an excellent sampling of some of his best music and its interesting to follow the different stages of his writing as his music evolves with the different stages in his life. A definite must-have for Rick Springfield fans or for those that simply appreciate great music.
Free Music Review: Fantastic Hit: 5 Stars
Very strong album and it's great that RS was at the helm to make this retrospective album. He has had a great career and is vastly underated. Incredible sonwriter, guitar player and of course singer and not a bad actor as well. So it is a strong album that covers from the 70's thru the heyday 80's and into the present and his music has changed with the times. And that is the key to longevity.
Congrats Rick for a long career and keep on rocking.
Free Music Review: You've Gotta See Him In Concert!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I've been a Rick Springfield fan for years and years and if you've never seen him in concert you've missed a real treat. If you go to one-- you'll come away wanting everything he's ever done. Energy! Charisma!Sensuality! Best of all a unique Humor that many stars just don't have. No wonder he's endured when others have been added to the "where are they now list". Do give Christmas With You a listen too. Beautiful, touching and dedicated to our soldiers.
Free Music Review: Excellent Compilation Hit: 5 Stars
As compilations go, this is a very good one. I've been a Rick Springfield fan since "Tao" was released in the '80s. That album included some of my favorite Springfield songs, including "State of the Heart." That song is here, as are most of Rick's other big hits (unfortunately, "Bruce" is not on the album). This collection is far superior to any previous Rick Springfield collection and also includes some great liner notes.
