Free Music Notes for Ricky Martin: MTV UnpluggedFree Music Review: Good music - one mishap Hit: 4 StarsThis CD is by and large excellent. The only song that I *really* did not like was Vuelve. I love the song as he sang it in the original album, and the new version is just nowhere near as nice. Goes to prove that you don't mess with perfection!
Free Music Review: Breath of fresh air Hit: 5 StarsI hope that Ricky realizes that he has finally found his true voice with the release of his Unplugged album. By the way, many kudos to the musicians in this album, each song was superbly executed, which at the same time allowed Ricky to find an ideal platform for his break-through performance. He should continue on this path not only for his fans, but for himself, because it is very obvious that his soul is closer to home in this creation.
Congratulations to all who were part of this. Simply outstanding, a breath of fresh air. This is a must-have CD+DVD
Free Music Review: Can get enough of... Hit: 5 StarsOne of the best CD's I own. I've been listeing to this CD for a half of year now, and I get goosebumps every time I put it in my CD pleyer. Great performance, you should own the DVD too!!!! Five stars no doubt !!!
Free Music Review: Love this CD! Hit: 5 StarsRicky Martin is sort of a guilty pleasure for me and I have played "Vuelve" over and over again. Where I find his English language material just so so, I think his Spanish language material really shows a depth of feeling and poetry. I bought this CD because I saw the Unplugged performance on tv and thought Ricky was incredible. He is a real showman and talent. On this CD, his voice is in fine form, the band is tight, and the music just shines. The song "Tu Recuerdo" was one reason I bought this CD, it's beautiful and Ricky and Mari from Chambao are amazing.
Free Music Review: Breathtaking!! Hit: 5 StarsWhat a breath of fresh air! Wow, I cannot even describe my joy in purchasing this album, the feeling is the total and absolute opposite of buyer's remorse. Whatever doubt people may have about Martin's talent as a singer have to be placed and hidden on a shelf after giving this album a thorough listen. He goes back to his roots and with the large live band, the sound is soulful and organic. His best hits are re-arranged and sung with subtle differences from their originals, which is very refreshing. EVERY SINGLE TRACK is impressive and a treat, to be sure. His music is relevant still, and I hope this experience will inspire him to go back to what he does best, and that's singing in Spanish. Don't forget to get the DVD, the enthusiastic dancing and "Making of Unplugged" cannot be captured or conveyed from just listening to the CD!!
