Free Music Review: Nelson's final studio sessions

It's hard to believe that this cd receives so little respect here. This represents the bulk of Rick Nelson's final studio recording sessions. In 1984 Nelson and his band (along with Elvis Presley's '50's-'60's backup vocalists The Jordanaires- fresh from a Burrito Brothers session by the way) recorded a bunch of his best-known classics. This session was issued as a 2-lp set called "All My Best" not long after the tragic plane crash. So what do these remakes have to offer? They feature Nelson's take on his hits from the perspective of a mature man. I like these versions BETTER, and not just for sentimental reasons. But you'll make up your own mind. As for the lackluster sound quality, these sessions were recorded directly onto 2 track, as the notes clearly state. All in all, this is a great cd and certainly more than worth it's absurdly low price tag.
