A great set for someone who has no rick nelson cd's. A good set for someone who has most of the recordings. A lot of b sides were not there, like your kind of lovin, fire breathing dragon,moonshine,who cares about tomorrow, and i've got my eyes on you, plus nothing was there from on the flip side tv moive. I happened to like those songs and was looking forward to a box set having them. Those being absent does not diminish the greatness of the set. They could have put 5 disks in there and I still would have bought it. This box set was by far the best collection of Rick Nelson songs. It was arranged in a methodic way, making each CD a timeframe 1957-1959, 1960-1964, 1966-1973, 1974-1985. Each CD focuses on a different style of Rick Nelson music from early rockabilly to country. You'll find all the hits and some other songs that are really enjoyable. It comes with a book with pictures and stories about most of his songs. I would reccomend this set to anyone who is a Rick Nelson fan and it includes some really good unissued tracks too. This is probably not Rick Nelson, as you remember him, but so much better. If you only know the old songs, you're in for a pleasant surprise. All these songs compared to so many others, really stand the test of time, and in my opinion, he is probably better than ever on his later work. A must for anyone remotely interested in Rick. What can I say about this great box-set Rick was truly one of the greatest rockers ever.Disc one shows what a great early rocker he was. Disc 2 shows what a great pop crooner he could be. Disc 3 shows him once again revealing another side as a country-folk-rock singer. man this guy was versatile.
