Free Music Notes for Photograph: The Very Best of Ringo StarrFree Music Review: GREAT CD Hit: 5 StarsGreat cd this is a true greatest hit cd it has it all and more.
Free Music Review: Pleased to meet Ringo Hit: 4 StarsI hadn't listened to any of Ringo's songs since my teens and that's back 30 years!! So, when I saw this record I thought it was time to add it to my other ex Beatles albums and remember some of the stuff. I'm still feeling emotional about "Photograph" and "It don't come easy" because they are great songs and the production is 1st class and, of course, they bring back memories. And what about "Back off Boogaloo", I love George Harrison guitar. It's a pity that in the mid seventies his productions got a bit...down. I like the songs from 1993 onwards, it seems that he is back in form.
Free Music Review: Oh my my Hit: 4 StarsWell Beatle fans here's another one for the CD rack. Ringo wasn't the strongest solo Beatle musically, but this compilation is in fact quite good. The songs are light and breezy and fun. There's also a gem in here titled "Weight of The World" along with a tribute song to the late George Harrison.
If you're a Beatle fan like me you'll need this disc to instantly update your solo Beatles collection.
Free Music Review: FINALLY! A decent Ringo solo compilation! Hit: 5 StarsPhotograph. A Ringo Starr hits compilation released in 2007.
INTRODUCTION:
Ringo Starr has always been the underrated Beatle. While his three former bandmates found almost instantaneous pop success, it took Ringo several years more. And even after his popularity as a solo artist caught on, it always paled in comparison to theirs. This was a shame, since Ringo was every bit as talented as they were. For years the only compilations representing his solo career were horrid, scattershot messes, most of which only covered a particular era of his career. Now we have a career-spanning collection. How does it fare?
OVERVIEW:
Photograph is a new Ringo Starr hits compilation, released in 2007. The compilation covers songs from his solo infancy in 1970-1971 right up to his more recent, latter-day recordings. There are twenty tracks total.
REVIEW:
Photograph is NOT Ringo Starr's first compilation. But it's the first compilation to get it right! Finally, we have a career-spanning set that does justice to the underrated guy's solo career. This compilation is vastly superior to any Ringo compilation ever before released - it accomplishes on one disc what other compilations combined could never do, and that's represent his entire solo career, fully and effectively. This compilation has everything from the big early hits like Photograph and It Don't Come Easy, right up to more recent hits like Ringo's ode to the late George Harrison, Never Without You. And all the way through, there are underrated masterpieces aplenty. We even get a solo version of Act Naturally that features Buck Owens! Quantity and quality, this set covers all the bases. My only complaints are the omissions of the song Vertical Man, and the recent hit, Don't Hang Up. The compilation tends to ignore Ringo's first two solo albums, aside from the title track from Beaucoups of Blues, but this is no big deal. Ringo's legacy as a solo artist can finally be realized in a compilation.
OVERALL:
Finally! This is the compilation I've been waiting for - for years! Ringo is every bit as excellent a solo musician as John, Paul, or George, and this compilation is the one that will finally prove that to the legions of listeners worldwide. VERY highly recommended.
Thumbs way up!
EDITION NOTES:
This is a brand new compilation, and you'll find it any major retailer of CDs.
Free Music Review: I loved this Cd Hit: 5 StarsI own solo efforts by all the other Beatles and only had to add some Ringo music to my collection. I absolutely LOVE this Cd. Ringo's tribute to George had me literally in tears as I listened to it and reading the liner notes that went with each song helped to learn the "history" behind each of these recordings. Although Ringo doesn't have the best voice in the industry each of these songs is a classic and will become a much listened to cd in my collection
