Besides being a creative genius as a game designer from the conceptual to the final production, Robyn has also given us a powerful soundtrack that blends between past and futuristic motifs. The music is both haunting and soothing, and yet simple and sublime. Since this is for a game based-upon gathering clues and puzzle-solving, both the visual and audio elements are of paramount importance. A deteriorating ancient "Age of Riven", populated by tribal rebels on desolate islands deserves just this sort of musical perfection!Free Music Review: Great! Worth all the money it costs!!

It was awesome! It gives me the same feeling I got when I played Riven. A sense of mystery, and loneliness. One of my favourites is the Boat Ride theme, I believe it's called, after you get shot by the rebels and get taken to the hive. I remember when I got shot, and the screen went black, I was terrified! I thought I had been killed and the game was over. The music at that time just sent a chill through me. It still does, especially that note that just rises and dies, right at the beginning of the track.Free Music Review: Masterful

A classic collection in that it has the ability to evoke many emotions all at once. Beautiful and dark, relaxing and urgent. At times, very rhythmic and purposeful... yet at other times, meandering, intertwined melodies and percussion create a surreal sound lacking structure and purpose. If you need to be in a creative mindset, I found putting this on "shuffle repeat" while you work helps a great deal. Also excellent for falling asleep to. i am a big fan of the game itself, which prompted me to pick up this CD, but i find that i always seem to reach for it when i want to either unwind, or if i want something in the background when i'm doing something that uses a lot of my brain-power. invaluable for exam week! If you're the kind of person that likes music playing when you're studying, you can't go wrong with this one. A superlative example of computer-generated music, and excellent in its own right. Those people lucky enough to play Riven, found that everything fitted together perfectly. The beautiful and immersive worlds that form Myst, Riven, Myst III (Exile) and Uru offer the chance to explore beautiful places, while solving intellectually challenging puzzles. The music is an important part of the atmosphere of the game, conveying beauty, excitement, and the mystery which is Riven. Buy the music, buy the game - better still, buy all of them!
