This is the best CD I ever got. It has wonderful music that brings you back to the game. It is very moody and has that eerie touch to it. Some of my favourites are 'Catherine's Freedom' and 'Gehn's Theme' which are very strong pieces and have sort of satisfying tunes and rythums. I think that it's great to listen to while you're resting. Even if you are not an avid Riven fan you would still enjoy it. Beautifully composed. The Riven soundtrack is awesome. It is perfect ambient music for casual listening. Each track sets the mood for the various locations in the game. Give the samples a listen if you're not sure about buying.

Whether you are a Myst enthusiast or just in search of a great piece of music Riven is it. It takes the listener on a voyage through some familiar areas of the game and some not so, the composure is well done and you pick up a lot that you didnt hear in the game it also includes a few Bonus Tracks. Absolutely enthralling. A big improvement over the Myst soundtrack, which was short and had everything the game had- no more. This one extends the music, and it's actually a CD I would buy without the benefit of playing the game first: it's a great instrumental CD. 5 stars only because that's as high as it goes.Free Music Review: An aged soundtrack, but still top notch.

I played through Myst and bought the soundtrack. Then came Riven, which I actually did not play. I merely bought the soundtrack. Even if you haven't played this game, if you enjoy new age music and ambience, this is a soundtrack you should pick up. It's brooding, relaxing and thoughtful.
