Free Music Notes for Rob Thomas: Something to Be

Free Music Review: better than i expected
Hit: 5 Stars

i was never a matchbox 20 fan,i only like a few of the singles.i was surprise when rob thomas release the first single it sounded like enrique iglesias should had sang that tune,i became very intrigue ,dint think he had what it takes to change his musical style, this album is very good it has solids ballads and good pop songs ,im sure that anyone who is a matchbox 20 fan is going to hated it ,but i think a true artist has the right to explore different styles of music i always admire that,i dont care when the sound the same as the previous album...i think this album is going to be the next big thing ,theres plenty hits in it to play in the radio for the remain of the year,so do you self a favor get it before the overplay every song and them we get so sick of it that no one will want to listen to this album again.

Free Music Review: Fantastic!
Hit: 5 Stars

Fantastic! Rob Thomas has been known as the lead singer of matchbox twenty (a great band, by the way), but with this album he steps out on his own, and it's a hit! Everybody has heard Lonely No More, and I have yet to meet anyone who doesn't like it. Well, it turns out that the whole album is just as good.

My fourteen-year-old daughter got this album, and its one we can agree on. Mr. Thomas is obviously facing a long and distinguished career, as he has a great voice, and obviously knows how to pick songs.

As an added bonus, the "B" side of the disc (I know, I'm showing my age!) has some nice extras, including a documentary, a photo gallery, and lyrics. This is a great album, and a really good package, all said and done. My daughter and I love the album, and highly recommend it!

Free Music Review: "Something To Be" is something worth buying
Hit: 5 Stars

Rob really outdid himself on this CD. As several of the spotlight reviews have pointed out, he's brought together a remarkable set of musicians to produce quite an eclectic mix of music. The mix really works and, whereas most collections start to tail off after the first few tracks, this CD picks up steam midway through and keeps getting stronger.

If you even remotely enjoy the songs that are getting airplay such as "This Is How A Heart Breaks" or "Lonely No More", or if you're into the stuff Matchbox Twenty produced in their most recent CDs, you won't be disappointed with "Something To Be". This is a solid 4-5 star CD even without the DVD footage, which I haven't yet had the chance to look at but which has garnered some pretty good writeups.

Free Music Review: ROB ROCKS
Hit: 5 Stars

Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty has broken out and become a star in his own seperate right, proving once and for all that he is here to stay. With classics under his belt from his older band Matchbox Twenty, Thomas goes on to continue to dazzle us with impressive new, rocking songs. The songs on this album will hold your attention, not once does it grow boring, not once did I find myself skipping songs because they were too similar. He experiments with new sounds and the result is magic. I would recommend this one to all MAtchbox Twenty fans, because this one is just as good, if not 100 % better than that. Matchbox Twenty, Rob Thomas, Nellie McKay, Clarkson, Corinna Fugate, Michelle Branch and the Wreckers with Santana.

Free Music Review: Rob really rocks
Hit: 5 Stars

When I bought this, I'd already heard the three big hits, "Lonely No More," "This is How a Heart Breaks" and "Streetlight Symphony." Not only are those great songs with great guitar riffs, but Thomas threw in some lovely ballads like "Ever the Same" and "All That I Am." The latter manages to combine a harp to sound Asian and a Middle Eastern-sounding bagpipe. What a beautiful song! Once again, I am impressed at the range of Rob's emotions, his voice and how he manages to put all of them into song with such success.

Artists like Rob Thomas and Dave Matthews give me hope for the future of rock music, which has lost so much ground to hip hop, rap and country.
