Free Music Review: Good live collection from Rob Zombie.
Hit: 4 Stars

Normally I am not a fan of live albums. The quality can be very questionable, there usually isn't any new material, sometimes labels just release them to cash in on the artist, etc. However I saw a commercial for this CD that looked pretty promising, and after I saw the setlist, I just couldn't resist.

Zombie live features a vast array of material from the White Zombie, and the Rob Zombie era as well. Naturally it includes all the classics like "Dragula", "More Human than Human", "Never Gonna Stop", which are essentials. It also includes a number of tracks that weren't hit singles for the hardcore fan's enjoyment such as "Demon Speeding" and "House of 1000 Corpses". The band sounds great featuring John 5 on guitar, Piggy D on bass, and Tommy Clufetos on the drums. They really execute the songs with the intensity that they were meant to have. The producton is as clean as you could ask for for a live album, courtesy of Scott Humphrey, which is definietly something to consider when buying any live recording.

What else can I say, it's a very inclusive set put on by a tight band, and it sounds great! This will please old school fans, and it could serve as a great place to start for newcomers as it includes all the essential tunes. All in all I would recommend Zombie Live.

I've heard a few live performances and bootlegs of Rob Zombie over the years, and quite frankly I have been disappointed with most of them. They usually sounded like Rob was out of breath and did not sing them like he did on the album.

It makes me wonder if this is actually the way it sounds live or if it has been touched up, but it does sound good on this album and I like the way most of these songs came out sounding live and giving a breath of fresh air to song's i've played a billion times before.

Apart from 2 tracks I don't like, maybe just cause I have never heard them and might grow on me later, the only thing that let's this album down is there is not enough tracks. I'd love to have heard so many more song's live, as would probably anyone else, but this will do for now and I am not at all disappointed with this purchase.

It combines both White Zombie and Rob's solo hit's belted out to screaming fans that I love to hear. If you don't like hearing live music, then you obviously wont like the album, but if you do, the sound is clear, the song's don't sound a hell of a lot different to the recorded versions, and Rob does sound like he has his wind pipes working.

Free Music Review: Great, but......
Hit: 4 Stars

.....a few weeks ago, this was supposed to be a cd-dvd with a great art-book. As it turns out, no art-book (that I can go without) and, even worse, no dvd (that annoyed me quite a bit). That's right : no live footage, no animated videos. It seems that the live dvd will be released around spring 2008. In other words : we'll have to wait four or six more months before it comes out. So, yes, this live album is awsome, it rocks hard and Rob Zombie is still a genius. But it's not the audio/visual fest I was waiting for. However, I must insist on one point : this live album is f**king great. And sorry about my bad english : I'm from europe and doing my best.

Just started listening to Rob Zombie recently and the fact that I prefer live albums, well mix them together and you get a kick A** CD, althought the sound is not crystal clear, in this case that is nothing to worry about, the music and metal biting loses nothing. From song one to his greatest hits "Dragula", "Demoniod Phenomenon", and "Super Beast" along with his hits from the movies "House of 1000 Corpses and "Devils Rejects" you have a great variety. Very little talking and a whole lot of preformance will keep any Zombie fan very well entertained. This one you listen to very loudly.

Free Music Review: zombie live is a demonoid phenomenon!!!
