If I had written a review after my first listen through the disc, I probably would have only given it 3 stars. I agreed with the reviewer who stated that it lacked the "Wow" factor of Robbie's past efforts. But I think after a few more listens, it becomes really easy to listen to from the first track to the last. "Ghosts," "Tripping," "Make Me Pure," and "Advertising Space" are all great songs that I'm sure will be huge in Europe. Unfortunately (for his record company), I still don't see this being a huge hit in the US. Wow this is a great CD. He is definitely continuing to mature musically (which you could see on Love Somebody from Escapology). I think it's very admirable that he is really trying to expand and grow and isn't attempting to pander to the teenybopper crowd. I'm sure some of his fans may not be happy there isn't a real traditional pop song, but I am thrilled with Intensive Care, especially "Make Me Pure", "Spread Your Wings", "Advertising Space" and "Place to Crash". Listening to this album started off as a direct comparison to Escapology which is a mistake. This album is a lot more sophisticated than some of Robbie's previous works, but it is still excellent album. I have to admit that the first time I listened to Intensive Care, I was less than happy, but it has actually grown into one of my favorite albums. His lyrics never disappoint in their witty and creative nature. I highly recommend this album and if at first you don't like....don't give up.Free Music Review: wake up America, this man is a fantastic musician...

If you liked his Greatest Hits album (released only in Asia in 2004), you'll like this one. The lyrics are standard Williams--cheeky and swaggering. The first line of the first song announces: "Here I stand victorious/ The only man who made you come." Ha! I read the reviews at Amazon--all good, solid reviews. I listened to it once--and found out it bore an immediate second listening. Wikipedia says it was the best selling album in Europe in 2005. Go, get!
