Robert Cray has a very sweet voice. When his voice is combined with his simple yet piercing guitar work, the music becomes as sweet as sugar. Strong Persuader is a great album that definitely has some saccharine tunes on it, but as usual each has a pinch of blues and sadness in it. The usual themes pervade: woman is up to no good and is breaking the man's heart, or else the man is a "strong persuader." Anytime you want to listen to some great music, put in "Strong Persuader" and listen to the damn good voice of Robert Cray and his guitar, you'll be very satisfied.
