Free Music Notes for The FuturistFree Music Review: Awesome CD, One I can listen to over and over Hit: 5 Stars
I just got this CD today for Christmas. I have been familar with Robert Downey Jr for a long time including his role on Ally McBeil and that is the first time I had heard him sing. I had no idea that he could. One of my faviorte songs is Smile on the CD but I love them all. I think it is easy to separte the actor and be able to see him as a singer/piano player and song writer and apperantly he did the cover art as well. He is one of the few people in the industry that you can actually call multi-talented and its a true statement. I look forward to future music by this talented man.
Free Music Review: An enigmatic, wistful debut Hit: 5 Stars
Take away the reputation and infamy you experience when hearing the name "Robert Downey, Jr." Listen carefully and you will find a genuine talent, a man who can sing and write music suitable to his own musical range and interests. Over time, I think we can expect a richer catalog to come from Downey; his greatest potential limitation is a loss of faith in his ability to control his own demons. Downey has a earthy voice that melds with his choice of jazz-influenced songs. He shows what he's got, and does not try to create a pop-rock persona for the sake of selling his music.
Free Music Review: I can't get enough..... Hit: 5 Stars
I bought "The Futurist" because I recorded Oprah the day she interviewed RDJ. I have always been a huge fan and like so many others I became one after seeing Less than Zero. I was shocked to find out he had a CD, I couldn't wait for him to perform on the show. Well needless to say I was hooked and went out the same day and bought it. When I listened to it the first time, I wasn't too sure, but after repeated listenings I can't seem to let the songs go and I am finding little nuances every time I hear it. This is truly a soulful, soul touching album. Bravo Mr. Downey.
Free Music Review: Beautiful music to daydream or drive to Hit: 5 Stars
I have never seen a RDJ movie, and have only seen him in numerous tv talk show appearences. I saw him play the piano and sing on a couple while promoting this album. I was impressed. Yes, his dreamy looks help get the initial attention, but the music draws you in further. I love the jazzy sound of the bass, guitars, and piano. This CD takes you to another place, I sit back and relax while listening to this. I love to pop this baby into the car's cd player--great to drive to. An interesting addition to anyone's collection--no matter the type of music fan you are.
Free Music Review: OMG Just Incredible Hit: 5 Stars
I have always love Robert Downey Jr., he is talented, funny, handsome, etc. But I never new he could sing and play piano. I found this CD by chance and I listened to some of the songs and figured I would try it. Well my husband and I cannot stop listening to it, and now everyone loves it. Robert Downey Jr. wrote all of the songs expect Your Move (written and sung by Yes) and Smile (written by Charles Chaplin). Just Incredible. "Your Move" is just wonderful. But my favorite song is Man Like Me. Just awesome.
