This album is great!! I totally paid for it, and now out of a sense of obligation I will go on Amazon.com and give it a glowing 5-star review. 3 or 4 stars won't do, this is a total 5-star effort and since I paid for this album I need to bloster my opinion of it by reading other people's 5-Star reviews. And if someone dare give this album a BAD REVIEW (probably people who didn't buy this album and thus have no reason to defend it's purchase,) I will simply click 'no' on the "was this review helpful" button!! This music makes you want to wrap your arms around a man lying naked with his demons. I heard Broken arms on the radio, and thought it was Dave Matthews until I saw, RDj on Leno.
The album has a strong influence of Springsteen/Matthews/Sting. It's complex musical arrangements and intriguing rhythms compliment the strong lyrical content. The emotional strength of this album draws the listener in.
Downeys lyrics express his sensitivity, showing him in a rare human form. When is the next release?

I Love the Entire CD of Futurist and I Love the Performer Robert Downey Jr. he does a great job in this CD. His compilations(his writings) are tremendous even for this CD being his first. Listening to this CD is very enjoyable for me. I like to listen to it while winding down my day it helps me relax. Each song gives you a different experience. Futurist is Magic! Robert Downey Jr. even does his own background vocals which for me made the CD even more interesting to listen to. Buy this CD you won't be sorry.Free Music Review: More Rober Downey Jr. please!

Robert Downey Jr's CD has a special quality to it that you rarely find these days. In a time of electronically altered voices, Mr. Downey's cd is refreshing. His voice has such an intimate quality to it. It sounds intimate, sincere and the way he twists his words make you think he has a secret about the song he sings. It's a departure from the generic sounds of today, and I love every minute of it.
I highly recommend this to anyone who wants quality, quirky, intimate vocals. Well done Mr. Downey!

I stumbled on this album on accident. After several listens I was hooked by every aspect of it. RDJ's musical arrangements are intricate and deepen as you listen to the album. The lyrics, which some people have complained about, are complex and require actual contemplation to appreciate. The title track is positive and an upbeat take on what's in store. My only hope is he will make another album in the years to come, even a song or two would be a great gift to his fans.
