A great buying experience, quick and easy. I had my cd within a week. What a great classic.

Free Music Review: An eye opener...
Hit: 5 Stars

when I was 15 years old! This was my first exposure to Robin Trower and I was hooked. The title song was something mystical, with the phase shifted , swirling guitar and the great voice(still one of the all time greats I think) of the late James Dewar. Then there were "Too Rolling Stoned", "Day of the Eagle" and on and on.Trower has always been compared to Hendrix, but I have always thought he has his own trademark sound. This album is definitely in my top 10 rock albums from the '70's.

Free Music Review: Masterpiece
Hit: 5 Stars

In the late 70's this record was undeniable. Still holds up.
Great guitar player with his own sound. Buy it.

Free Music Review: Good hard driving blues-rock
Hit: 4 Stars

This is fine listening for anyone into late 60s/early 70s style rock. Trower a very fine guitarist, manages to harness the 'Hendrix' sound and style quite effectively.

However i don't know what the fuss is about really?? The 'next' Hendrix stuff was also done by Ernie Isley, Eddie Hazel and Stevie Ray Vaughan to name a few. At least they forged their own story from that information.

Yes Trower writes nice songs and James Dewar is a good vocalist, but to me, this is not a masterpiece.

Free Music Review: BRIDGE OF SIGHS PICKS UP WHERE JIMI LEFT OFF ! (it's undeniably a rock-guitar masterpiece)
Hit: 5 Stars

Robin Trower's Bridge Of Sighs (1974) is about as close to Hendrix as you can get, without actually listening to Jimi. It's that good. It's no wannabe or second-string imitation, either. Bridge Of Sighs is the real thing, standing on it's own merit as a rock-guitar masterpiece, and it's one of my all-time favorite albums. From the hard rocking Day Of The Eagle, The Fool And Me, and Little Bit Of Sympathy to the slow, wickedly sad, and beautiful Bridge Of Sighs, In This Place, and About To Begin, this album is outstanding. There is not a bad, or even mediocre, song on the album. Trower's prowess on the Fender Stratocaster guitar is simply amazing, and bassist James Dewar's deep, soulful vocals are powerful and mesmerizing. Reg Isidore mercilessly pounds the drums, and he gives the songs an enthusiastic, beat-heavy sound. Trower's guitar sound is remarkably like Hendrix's, only with more reverb and less feedback. You can hear snippets of Jimi's Crosstown Traffic and Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) here and there on Bridge Of Sighs, but Robin takes the style in a new direction, blending in his own unique approach, and building on the foundation of the guitar sound that Jimi Hendrix invented. Bridge Of Sighs is Robin Trower's masterpiece, and it's an album that should be in every rock-guitar aficionado's collection. You don't want to miss this one!
