Free Music Review: Rocco is magic

This is one of the best albums I've purchased in the last couple years. I enjoy every single song. I will NOT get tired of listening to this. I first discovered Rocco DeLuca and the Burden seeing them live as an opening act. I didn't know them but was very impressed by his skill with the dobro - which is a very difficult instrument to master. I immediately bought the album and I love it. The use of the dobro does make it fresh. Rocco's voice is phenomenal and he has strong songwriting skills. The album successfully blends different genres and makes it all "work." There's rock, blues, alternative, punk, Americana and other genres influencing the sound. He is grounded in Americana music and knows the history of that music which is a big influence on his style. There is a good blend of mellow and up-tempo stuff. I saw them a second time live and was even more blown away than the first time. Definitely see them live if you get a chance! I saw in an interview that the reason the track "I Trust You to Kill Me" is not on the album is because it is an homage to Zeppelin and other bands who titled their album with a song but then put the actual song on another album. Hint: You can get the track in a live EP on iTunes. Thank you Ironworks for putting out a band grounded in rock and blues!
