Awesome soundtrack to this movie about a guy in a tribute band in the 80's who gets kicked out of the band, winds up becoming the replacement for the lead singer of the actual band, loses his identity, loses his girl, becomes someone he doesn't like and realizes he doesn't need to be, leaves the band in the middle of the concert and finds himself and, of course, finds the girl. Great performance by Mark Wahlberg. If you grew up in the 80's this movie is for you.Free Music Review: The Dio Connection

Cool CD ... the Steel Dragon tunes kick butt thanks to Zakk. But did anybody else notice the strong Dio references. First off, they cover Long Live Rock and Roll. But what about the song titles of the other tunes. Stand Up ... anybody remember the tune Stand Up and Shout from Dio's first solo record? We All Die Young ... anybody remeber We Die Young from the first Black Sabbath record Dio was on (Heaven and Hell). What gives?Free Music Review: THis Rocks

This Album Rocks! If you don't think so, turn your stereo up and set the EQ right!!!Sure a more live sound would have been better for the Original Steel Dragon songs, but they still rock and this is surely how they would have made the Album Versions if this was made in the 80's!
I would love to hear a full album by the guys who made these songs! They would make an awesome live band!
Free Music Review: Skip the movie, get the soundtrack

The real story of this soundtrack is the fictitious band "Steel Dragon", which in actuality is Jason Bonham, Zakk Wylde, Jeff Pilson, and a pair of vocalists. They paired 80's metal with todays production, and the results rock!The movie is worth seeing if you want to see actors pretending to perform the music - but not for anything else, frankly.

Half of the music on this CD you can find elsewhere, the other half is music by the "fictional" band Steel Dragon. Fictional or not, Zakk, Jeff, Jason and a host of others did create some nice new music here. I-Tunes never carried it, so I'm glad I came here to purchase it.
