Free Music Notes for It Had to Be You... The Great American SongbookFree Music Review: It had to be him!! Hit: 5 Stars
I have been a Rod Stewart fan for many years!I absolutely love this cd. This is completely intoxicating Rod Stewart. The voice, the man! Close your eyes & get lost in them both!!! Phew! The only thing I did not like was putting "For all we know" and "We'll be together again" next to each other. The first song talks about no tomorrows "Tomorrow may never come for all we know"... the next song then talks about "Remember there's always tomorrow, for parting is never goodbye we'll be together again"... Other than that all I want to do is beg for more from this sexy and talented man!!
Free Music Review: Dinner Music at its BEST Hit: 5 Stars
I am always looking for a great CD to listen to while entertaining at my dinner parties. I have every genre of music to coordinate with the theme of the party that I am throwing. I was confident that this CD would be FABULOUS and was right on the money with my prediction. Rod Stewart does a SUPERB job of singing the "oldies". If you enjoy Frank Sinatra, Harry Connick, Jr., you will be sure to LOVE this compilation by Rod Stewart. Open a bottle of wine, sit down and enjoy some conversation while listening to a WONDERFUL collection of songs sung by a CLASSIC performer.
Free Music Review: Rod Sings Romance Like A Dream Hit: 5 Stars
I love these songs, even tho I am not quite 50 yet....takes me back to all the old black & white movies I watched as a little girl....and Rod sings then like a dream. The DVD is great for when you need a bit more of a Rod fix than just music. Looking forward to the next DVD, The 92 Valentines Day concert from LA Ampitheater. That was a GREAT show and I will be at my store as soon as I get off work on Feb 11 th picking up my copy of this DVD. I have watched that show on tape quite a few times and look forward to the Picture and Sound quality increase from DVD technology!
Free Music Review: This Brit has it goin' on! Hit: 5 Stars
Rod Stewart's vice is recogniziable, but his sound with a minimum of interpretation lends itself to this collection of American standards. My brother always plays this album when I visit, and when I went looking for it at Amazon.com, there were 3 newer collections available. I couldn't decide, so bought them all. I live in a 55+ condo, and the residents love it when I bring these 4 CDs to social gatherings. They sing along, and ask who is singing duets in the newer 3, and generally enjoy songs from their pasts sung by Rod Stewart. I'm always thanked for bringing my music.
Free Music Review: It had to be you Hit: 5 Stars
I fell in love with this voice, the first time I heard it, almost 40 years ago. It has actually matured, and become richer over the years. Rods strongest talent, has always been, the emotion he puts into his singing. I always felt that he was one of the greatest, but underappreciated ,singers of his generation. Rod Stewart demonstrates that he is a superb musical interperter, his timing, and phrasing are par to none. The songs will calm you, bring a amile to your face, and a tear to your eye. It gets better, each time you listen to it. You can't go wrong with this one.
