The Great American Songbook sitting third on the Amazon Sales Rank really shows how much that Rod Stewart and Clive Davis has put towards this masterpeice. This has created a new chapter in Rod Stewarts big book and it shall be one he shall never forget thanks to the great success the new album is having at its early peak.

I never imagined Rod Stewart singing this type of music. I didn't know what to expect. Other artists have also done old standards after having hits in a Pop genre--Natalie Cole, Melissa Manchester, Linda Ronstadt, Barry Manilow--and I've loved what they have done. Well Rod, congratulations. You have done an excellent job with this recording. Thank you for picking out such fantastic songs (my favorite is the last track--"That's All"). Wonderful! We saw the "Rod Stewart In Concert" on A & E. What a sexy show. Rod in tux singing some of the best and most classic American standards. In Concert, he thanks his family because he grew up on his father's knee hearing these songs. He certainly sings them with love and respect. The show is a must see. I already have a list of 10 who will receive this CD for Christmas. Tonight I was playing it while cooking dinner. My husband actually got off the couch, left the news and came to the kitchen and started singing along with Rod. Need I say more?Free Music Review: Amazing Versatility

The quality of Rod's interpretations rivals that of the great girl singers of the past. Backed with a near-big-band sound, arranged as each tune should be, the combination yields hours of nostalgic -- yet contemporary -- totally danceable, totally emotional music. Move over, Barry White [God rest his noble soul] - Mr. Stewart has arrived at the place where music matters! I have all three CD's and hope there will be more. I THINK THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST CD I'VE EVER HEARD!!!! I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL (WAS IN CARDIAC ARREST FOR THE SECOND TIME) WHEN THIS CD CAME OUT. MY FRIENDS BROUGHT THE CD AND CD PLAYER INTO INTENSIVE CARE AND ASKED THE DOCTORS IF IT WAS OKAY FOR ME TO LISTEN TO IT. THEY SAID IT WAS OKAY AND THE REST IS HISTORY. I FINALLY WOKE UP SINGING "YOU GO TO MY HEAD" AFTER FIVE WEEKS IN THE HOSPITAL, I CAME HOME TO SEE HIS SPECIAL ON A&E. THANKS TO ROD AND HIS "IT HAD TO BE YOU" CD I'M HOME AND BACK TO MYSELF ONCE MORE. THANKS TO
