Free Music Notes for Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific (The New Broadway Cast)Free Music Review: enjoyable Hit: 5 Stars
My Dad and I saw South Pacific over the summer and he couldn't stop talking about how much he enjoyed the show. I bought him this CD so he could reminisce about the show - and reminisce he has. He has listened to the CD nonstop since he received it. While a CD recording could never compare to the live production, I think it's a great memento to have.
Free Music Review: updated classic Hit: 5 Stars
South Pacific has some of the most beautiful music in the history of our theater. This recording is a smart rendition - updated in subtle ways to highlight the cross-cultural understandings and alienation of war. The New York Times says South Pacific is worthy of great literature. This recording is a good start in 'reading' a classic!
Free Music Review: Broadway at its Best Hit: 5 Stars
I was fortunate to have seen the original Broadway production with Mary Martin, Ezio Pinza, Juanita Hall in my youth and thought that what I experienced would never be topped. Well, the latest revival certainly comes close, perhaps even better. You need to hear it - go see it!

Free Music Review: fabulous. Hit: 5 Stars
The CD reflects how truly wonderful the revival actually is. . .
Since so much of the revival revolves around the score -- the show has been produced with the original arrangements (30 piece orchestra). . .the CD is exceptional.
