Free Music Review: ALAN'S PSYCHEDELIC DIGESTIVE SYSTEM......

WHAT?!? Ok folks, ever heard of this one? Alot of reviews go on here mentioning how strange this album is, but since I am well schooled in the artists work during this time frame, via Pink Floyd albums of this era, I have to say... I thought it was pretty standard stuff. Waters and Geesin did of course collaborate on Floyds Atom Heart Mother, doing primarily the same experimental type stuff with everyday sound effects, and making them into music. "It's muuuuu-sic"... Waters also showed fascination to this type of experimentation on his own throughout the Ummagumma album.
Theres more than what you think here though. I expected a large collage of farts and heartbeats. Waters plays some nice little diddys on the accoustic guitar, even sings! From what I had read prior, I thought it was big long Alans Psychedelic Breakfast.... which was nothing but an audio presentation of the going ons in one mans kitchen. This album is similar, only replace clinking tea cups with... you guessed it, farts and heartbeats. But it works better than you would think, and the project is far more musical than Alans Psychedelic Breakfast. Plus some of the song titles rule! MORE THAN SEVEN DWARFS IN [...] LAND and MRS. THROAT GOES WALKING. The album is actually a lot more fun than it should be (as it was produced as the soundtrack to an actual medical documentary) and if you are a fan of that 69-71 era Floyd, you will surely have a good time with this album. As weird as that may seem...
