( UPDATE) Sept 18th 2006, anyone know about the new Guitaritst for this shows coming up? email me if you have seen a current show and let me know IF and ONLY IF he is as good as DB II, not partly, AS good. for I can still score tickets at the last min

Doyle Bramhall II on "Flesh" pretty much almost stole the show. From what I see the new Roger R tour has the whole band back together from "Flesh" BUT DBII! Well well, so I just don't know and will have to do the wait and see deal.

Flesh is way better sounding than Pulse, but no stage props. So when I heard Roger was coming out again with the same band and all the stage props I went weeeeeeeeeeeeee, then I heard no BDII

Why? Did he not want to do it again?

Did Roger not want him on again?

Was/ is Roger jealous that BD stole the show, thus his "thunder"?

Does BD know he smoked on the dvd and wants more of the share of the shows than before and Roger said no?

Whatever the reason, once something works good DON'T MESS WITH IT! but its being messed with. Pretty much this is the main reason I am not going to go see it live, for what if its not as good?

Can't go backwards, life is to short for that. Pay $500 and be bummed? Would rather pay $20 for the dvd and be bummed it didn't work out then the show.

Been there done that with LOTS of bad shows, way more bad shows in 25 years then good ones. Tired or wasting money, it gets old ya know?. After the flesh dvd I went man! Missed the show! Will NOT miss it if it comes again. But no DBII on this tour.

( UPDATE OVER )

sound is killer for live cd, most are suck, get the DVD too, killer, one of fav cd's period to play and by far THEE best live cd I have ever heard, next to Joe Satch live in SF

Listened with Sennheiser 595's, the best that I have found, had 555 for a couple years they are nice too, but cant touch 595's, pay the dif and see, er I mean hear.

Free Music Review: Very good live album showcases some of Waters' best work
Hit: 4 Stars

IN THE FLESH offers a collection of songs which showcases some of the best of both Pink Floyd and Waters' solo work. The double-album begins with the title cut--a fitting opener--and then moves into some additional tracks from THE WALL. Next Waters goes forward in time with a few features from Floyd's last album, THE FINAL CUT, before retracing his steps to include some classic cuts from ANIMALS and WISH YOU WERE HERE. The first disc then ends with a Floyd standard from waaaay back, "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun."

Disc 2 is mostly a compilation of tracks from THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON as well as Waters' most recent solo album, AMUSED TO DEATH. I'm not sure why Waters choose not to include any songs from his second album, RADIO KAOS, as well as to virtually ignore his first solo album, THE PROS AND CONS OF HITCHHIKING, especially inexplicably skipping over the latter's memorable title tune (known as Part 10 rather than the Part 11 featured here); this was my one disappointment. On the other hand, I was pleasantly surprised that the background vocalists did an admirable job of filling in for David Gilmour's vocals (unique though these might be) on such tracks such as "Mother," "Welcome to the Machine," and "Time." Finally, in the same way that the song "The Tide is Turning" provided an optimistic end to RADIO KAOS, this album ends with a moving new track, "Each Small Candle"--who else but Waters has the ability to be both gloomy and hopeful at the same time? Overall, I was more impressed with the scope and diversity of IN THE FLESH than with Waters' previous live release, LIVE FROM THE BERLIN WALL, although both works have a place in the collection of any true Waters fan.

Free Music Review: OK Roger, You Convinced Me
Hit: 5 Stars

I couldn't stand Roger Waters. I didn't like him with Pink Floyd and I definately didn't like him as a solo artist. I thought he was nothing more than a whining, moaning, groaning, complaining child. After Pink Floyd, I hated his lyrics. The Wall, in my opinion, exposed him as an angry, hateful individual that wanted to take out his frustrations on everyone else. But lo and behold! My friend across the street is a very big Pink Floyd fan. He gave me copies of Roger's The Wall Live In Berlin and In The Flesh. Since I was sitting up late one night and there was nothing on the TV, I popped in The Wall. I thoroughly enjoyed it and got a whole new opinion and attitude toward Mr. Waters. The next night I popped in In The Flesh. I was totally blown away by his performance and gained a lot of respect for him. The documentary at the end of The Wall DVD was excellent. It showed Roger as a very cool, calm and collected individual. His solo versions of Pink Floyd tunes on this album are out of this world. He does a very good job on everything he did both in The Wall and this album. I am truely impressed with the way, unlike other musicians, he shared the stage with other performers and musicians. He didn't appear to take the attitude that "this is my show and don't you forget it." He shared the spotlight with others which is not seen very much from other musicians. I would highly recommend this album to any Pink Floyd or Roger Waters fan. Check it out, you won't regret it. After seeing the DVD, I had to purchase this album and I do not regret it for a minute.

Free Music Review: Solid live release
Hit: 4 Stars

Roger Waters' 1999 tour found him touring with an excellent lineup and 2 outstanding guitarists. The material chosen is definitely late-70's/early 80's heavy (I could have done without "Welcome To the Machine" and "In The Flesh" in favor of more obscure songs like the excellently-arranged "Set the Controls") but these years are most people's favorites. The rest of the work focuses mainly on Roger's Amused to Death solo album, which is excellent material. It's also great to get to hear the new song "Each Small Candle." The songs from both eras fit nicely along with each other and are arranged in a vaguely chronological order, which works. Waters' pointed and intelligent lyrics are excellently complemented by the live group he tours with, and the songs don't disappoint from their album versions. It's also cool that the band went out on a limb and played long songs like "Shine On" and "Dogs." As someone who attended the exact show that was recorded, I'm glad the production equals the live experience--the crowd is not too pervasive, but it also doesn't seem doctored. It IS a little odd to hear Bramhall singing Gilmour's parts--it makes it a little eerie and "imposter-like" to have someone else singing, and choosing Gilmour-heavy songs make his (and Rick Wright's, for that matter) vocal absence more apparent--though it's awesome to hear Roger sing songs like "Time." I recommend this album to fans of Pink Floyd as well as Roger Waters--though you might be put off by Gilmour's absence, you might also become interested in Roger's solo material, which is definitely worth your time. I'd also like to add that this album runs circles around "Delicate Sound of Thunder" and "Pulse." It's much more organic and vigorous, less hackneyed and (because Roger's playing new songs) less like a dying band trying to squeeze more money out of bygone days.
