Free Music Review: Great sound - no bonus tracks - so/so package

I don't (yet) have an SACD player, so I can't comment on the sonics of the SACD layer. I did however do an A/B comparison of the regular CD layer (this CD plays on any CD player) with the LP and it sounds almost as good as the LP. The CD advantage is that on songs that used to be distorted towards the "middle" of the LP, the quality is excellent as well. Negatives: the packaging offers nothing of value: no liner notes putting this seminal group and album in context to the music and politics of the late 1960s, no photos, and no bonus tracks, which would have shed some light on these all-too-familiar songs. a GREAT bonus would have been if they had put the very rare mono version of Let it Bleed, where Keith sings much more...ABKCO missed a golden opportunity to make these reissues trully exceptional. Unfortunate.
