Free Music Review: RON WHITE - DRUNK IN PUBLIC Hit: 5 Stars
When I first saw Ron White on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, I thought he was the funniest person I had ever heard. He still is one of the funniest (second to be exact, behind Larry the Cable Guy). I love his first solo album "Drunk In Public". There is a ton of great material on this CD. I will be buying his new CD "Truckstop Comedy" next week and I can't wait to hear it. Back to "Drunk In Public", very very funny stuff. There's just something about Ron's chracter that cracks me up. I don't know if it's the way he talks, or the way he's always smoking and drinking, he's just hilarious. He really does look like a fat George Strait. Anyway, if you liked the BCCT, or any of those other guys (Larry, Foxworthy, Engvall) then you'll love this CD. I will never forgot where I was when I first heard Lug Nut Day, but there is a certain punchline in that one (don't wanna spoil it, but the one about the Sears Tower) that I still, to this day, think that made me laugh harder than anything I have ever heard or seen before. It brings me to tears every time I hear that one part. And don't forget about Tater Salad being thronwn out of the bar, that's still hilarious. Damn, everyone should check this out. The funniest tracks are: Sunglasses, Lug Nut Day, and They Call Me "Tater Salad".
Free Music Review: "Sometimes comedy isn't pretty, folks." Hit: 5 Stars
While casually sipping his gin and dragging on a cigarette, Ron White transports his audience to pure comedic bliss. And like the title of this review, his comedy isn't always pretty, but it's always funny. And I'm not talkin' "chuckle funny." This is "laugh 'til the tears roll down your cheeks" funny. And White's CD DRUNK IN PUBLIC thoroughly showcases this comedian's hilarious talent.
White has a wonderful gift of delivery and timing. He sets up each joke--each punchline--with all the mastery of a wizard at the pinnacle of his craft. Sure, there's profanity, and White discusses and tackles several topics that are less than pleasant, yet his crudeness and vulgarity are merely instruments to his uncanny ability to cut to the chase and deliver an anecdote as efficiently and fluidly as a high performance engine hitting on all cylinders. White doesn't mince words, he doesn't waste time--he goes for the comedic jugular and never lets up.
If you're one of those politically correct types, don't waste your time with this CD. However, if you're looking for some genuinely funny material that's irreverently raunchy and dares to make us look at and laugh at ourselves, pick up DRUNK IN PUBLIC. It's guaranteed to pick you up.

Free Music Review: "I was drunk in a bar! They threw me into PUBLIC!" Hit: 5 Stars
Ron White is an incredibly funny and original comedian. Anyone who saw him on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour should certainly attest to that. He rants and raves about all sorts of things in a very interesting fashion. Ron proves that he's not just another typical redneck comedian building off of redneck stereotypes, such as Larry the Cable Guy and Jeff Foxworthy. This is good because he doesn't end up alienating his audience by only telling jokes only Southerners can appreciate. If you already have the "Tater Salad" DVD, don't bother buying this CD, since the DVD has basically all the same comedy and even more. Also, don't bother buying the Blue Collar Comedy Tour if you want to see "more" of Ron since his skit is basically an abridged version of his act with 1 or 2 new things thrown in. He is rather crude at times, but if you're not offended by dirty language then you're bound to have fun. I would not recommend playing this for the first time while driving your car, because odds are you'll be laughing so hard that you're bound to be a driving hazard.
Free Music Review: Humour at its best.... Hit: 5 Stars
As a non-US resident who has never had the chance to see Ron White live, this CD was perfect. I first encountered him through the Blue Collar tour and thought his style of dry humour was the best I have ever heard. When I heard they were releasing a CD of his own, it was like Xmas and I was certainly not disappointed. While some of his material I have heard before (being thrown out of the bar in NYC is the funniest piece of storytelling ever), the new material I heard on this disc blew me away. From the opening piece on the price of sunglasses to his views on his rich in laws and car servicing, you will laugh very, very hard. Its the kind of humour we can all relate to, as it is the stupidity we all encounter every day put into words.
