Free Music Notes for Irish TourFree Music Review: One Of The Best Live Recordings Hit: 5 Stars
This was the introduction of Rory Gallagher to me. This live album was recorded in Ireland back in 1974 and a good one it is. Most songs are long, but show what a great guitarist Rory was. Listen and you'll see why Rory was one of Ireland's favorite sons. Though all songs are great, my personal favorite is Million Miles Away.
Free Music Review: Smokin Hit: 5 Stars
For new and old fans alike, there is no better example of Rory's fire and intensity than this gem. One of the most underrated guitarists ever, Rory shows why he better than Clapton (dare I say?). Besides, his live shows were almost a religious experience-I saw him three times in Europe and this disc captures his sound perfectly.
Free Music Review: The Best Rory Recording !!!!! Classic !!!! Hit: 5 Stars
Started listening to this back in '74 when I was a wee lad .It still sounds amazing all these years later.Walk on Hot coals is a masterpiece of Strat sounds.I put it alongside Jimi's "Machine Gun" from the original Band of Gypsies recording and Trowers "Daydream" from his 1975 "Live " recording.A must have .
Free Music Review: Best Live Album.... Ever Hit: 5 Stars
The review title says it all. This is a wonderful album - full of raw energy, world class guitar playing and enthusiasm. What you won't find here is a highly polished, over produced album. Rory and his band plug in and play - the results are awesome. I highly recommend the Irish Tour DVD as well.
Free Music Review: F_ckin' Incredible! Hit: 5 Stars
Enough said! This album is great, Gallagher was a monster. Unique sound, great straight ahead blues/rock, fantastic slide (sweet, rockin', delicate, raw and burning), extended songs, appreciative fans...., better than Clapton..., like I said in the title, incredible! Turn it up!!!
