Free Music Review: Great album by great musician

Rory Gallagher was a musician's musician. His virtuosity and technique were appreciated by other musicians as well as fans "in the know." It's truly a pity that he wasn't more widely recognized for his skill and ability while he was alive, though he did have quite a loyal following.
This album may not be his best, but you'll need to buy others to truly compare them. It is not a bad place to start if you're looking for a primer on Rory and his musical style. Others to consider if you've never heard him would be Against the Grain, Blueprint, and Calling Card.
You'll find straight ahead rock, blues-rock, acoustic blues and even a country song on Tatoo. It fairly covers the range of his styles and you'll know what the hype is about with respect to this man and his music. And for Rory, the music was the thing. The lineup on this album is the classic lineup of Rory, Gerry McAvoy, Lou Martin, Rod de'Ath.
The other thing to know about this album is that it has, at this writing, the same tracks as you'll find on the more expensive releases, including the "bonus tracks." If you're looking for value for the money, consider this before buying the more expensive releases. Since there's no track listing given, the songs on this disc are: Tatoo'd Lady; Cradle Rock; 20.20 Vision; They Don't Make Them Like You Anymore; Livin' Like A Trucker; Sleep On A Clothes-Line; Who's That Coming; A Million Miles Away; Admit It.
