Free Music Notes for Run Lola Run: Original Motion Picture SoundtrackFree Music Review: Popular music with artistic merit Hit: 5 Stars
While many people enjoy the fast paced, music video feeling of Run Lola Run - the most attractive features of this movie and soudtrack are in the subtleties in the selection of the materials. The "remixes" are not just redresses of the sae sngs these are alternate versions played during the alternate realities in the movie. (These are what is referred to by Thomas DeLio as Multiverses or by science fiction authors as alternate universes.) Equally as impressive is the selection of Charles Ives's The Unanswered Question in the movie, which occurs during the transition into the monochromatic "red" scenes. The uncertainty of their future makes this a perfect selection. The filmmakers obviously have studied their Wagner well...
Free Music Review: High-energy music for a high-energy movie Hit: 5 Stars
I waited to buy the soundtrack until I'd seen "Run Lola Run," and then I HAD to have it--by which time, of course, there were none to be found. I'm told patience is a virtue and I, therefore, must be quite virtuous. I now have the soundtrack, and it's most excellent to work out to, write poetry to...damn near do anything to (insert sexual innuendo here). I could have done without the endless remixes, but the main cuts from the movie are so good that I don't really care that the album is about twice as long as it needs to be. A soundtrack that's as good as the movie it's from--and considering how excellent "Run Lola Run" is, that's high praise indeed.
Free Music Review: Awesome! Hit: 5 Stars
I recently saw the film Run Lola Run and thought it rocked -- and I came online and bought the CD the same day. But I didn't get my hopes up too much, because I've been dissapointed way too many times by movie soundtracks. Well, the CD came in the mail today and it is just too cool for words. The tracks are so rich with sound -- don't expect any thin generic techno beats here. I can't get myself to stop playing it! If you haven't seen the movie yet, go see it -- and then order this CD. The music pulses and drives you -- I've been trying to make a good running tape for a while now and if this music doesn't help me improve my time then I don't know what will.
Free Music Review: Energetic! Hit: 5 Stars
This soundtrack from the German film "Run Lola Run" is a perfect CD for work-outs! The techno-trance music is expertly mixed (and remixed) with vocals (in English) by "Lola," (Franka Potente). The first track, "Believe," is a smooth introduction to the rest of the CD, which makes you want to get up and move! I love listening to this CD while working-out on the treadmill and Stairmaster, or jogging, because the techno beat keeps me going fast and the trance music gets me in the "zone." I recommend that you play this CD in a Discman with good anti-skip protection because you will want to run like Lola!
Free Music Review: Germany to Prague Hit: 5 Stars
Lola Rennt is an excellent soundtrack. I saw the video for Wish in Germany last Fall, long before the movie arrived in the states. Incredible! While looking for the single in Karstadt I opted to buy the entire album. I wasn't sure what I'd find (having been disappointed by albums containing 'one great track' and 15 other average ones, in the past). But what a surprise. As it happened, I was driving to Prague that night and it was IDEAL driving music. I must have listened to tracks 1-9 a half dozen times! Excellent music. They should air the videos to Wish and Believe in the states. Unfortunately, that isn't likely to happen.
