Free Music Notes for Run Lola Run: Original Motion Picture SoundtrackFree Music Review: FANTASTIC! Hit: 5 Stars
This is definitely one of the best soundtracks that I own, if not the best. Some soundtracks leave you loving one or two songs more than others not on "Run Lola Run", every song is fantastic! It knocks you on your feet and keeps you dancing, absolutely impossible to listen to without moving. It is seductive, frantic, European and addictive! I played this CD three times in a row when I first received it. For maximum listening pleasure, see the movie first and relive the ride with the CD. Twyler and Potente aren't only great artists(director and actress, respectively)but also are great performers of music! Highly recommended!
Free Music Review: A Fine Companion to a Fine Film Hit: 5 Stars
Now and again, a film comes along with a truly astounding soundtrack--one that is more than a pro forma companion release (well, at least no Disneyesque cereal-box trophies here). In the German film "Lola Rennt" (Run, Lola, Run), the music truly supports the character development and action. The most recent film I recall with such a compelling, stand-alone soundtrack is "Something Wild", the mid-1980s masterpiece starring Melanie Griffith and Jeff Daniels. Many who see or have seen Franka Potente's compelling portrayal of a young woman with just 20 minutes to solve a matter of life and death will enjoy the companion soundrack.
Free Music Review: I love Lola. Hit: 5 Stars
I bought this CD, like everyone else, right after I saw the movie. It took some time to warm up to it because I wasn't expecting so many versions of the same songs, but once I put it in my CD player at work, I haven't taken it out. I love the hyper feel to it - I work much faster (I'm a designer, so I can listen to this stuff and work at the same time... probably not a good idea if you're an accountant...), and find myself excited, as opposed to bored, as I usually am at work. And it's fun to sing along in German and have people look at you sideways. =) If you like music that gets your blood pumping, buy this.
Free Music Review: Fast and Full of Energy Hit: 5 Stars
I am not going to lie and say this CD is for everyone. Some people simply cannot appreciate the repetitive nature of techno music. If you are a techno fan and you enjoyed the movie then this soundtrack is certainly worth buying. Many of the tracks are very powerful and make you want to get up and move. Franka Potente has a beautiful voice and her tone matches perfectly with the fast paced drums and bass. I really enjoy the way this soundtrack features all the music from the movie along with extra remixes. I felt like I got my moneys worth from this CD and highly recomend it.
Free Music Review: Throbbing, delirious, insistent and perfectly matched Hit: 5 Stars
The soundtrack to the head-trip German import is no less hypnotic or compelling than the movie that spawned it. One of the few movies to USE music as an intelligent complement to its images and movement, "RLR" works just as well on CD as it does on the big screen; considering how slack and inattentive most soundtrack music is, that's saying a LOT. The raw tracks for the movie itself are here, as well as a slew of optional but never uninteresting remixes. A nice bonus comes in the form of Potente's "Wish" (included in music-video form on the DVD).
