_2112_ Was not Rush's last foray into conceptualism, it is merely the only one that critics and writers noticed. The following albums all the way up to 1980's _Permanent Waves_ featured extended story-like works. If you like _2112_, you'll like _A Farewell To Kings_ or _Hemispheres_ even better. If knowledge and use of literary forms is "nerdy" , then Rush's drummer/lyricist Neil Peart is indeed "nerdy". If an instantly recognizable voice and virtuoso bass-playing are traits of a "whiny geek", then Rush's bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee is a geek. Rush is the only 70's hard rock band that is still fully functioning and producing new material with a major record label and the original lineup.
