Free Music Review: Rush rockets to stardom with Exit...Stage Left
Hit: 5 Stars

Considered not only the finest live album by Rush, but the finest live album by any artist, Exit...Stage Left shines like no other.

Rush shows how their musicianship has evolved and improved since their first live cut (All the World's A Stage).

Tracks from their finest CDs to date appear throughout this exceptional collection, and some outdue their studio counterparts.

Case in Point: YYZ. The studio version of this incredible instumental was fantastic. The live version is unreal. Neil Peart's drum solo is...impossible. How one many can generate so many sounds still boggles the mind.

You have to hear (and feel it - subwoofer up to 12) to appreciate it...and even then you'll be left speechless.

Every accolade Rush receives is well deserved as this spectacle proves.

Crank it up!

Free Music Review: FANTASTIC!
Hit: 5 Stars

Rush's 2nd live album is also their best, coming hot on the heels near the end of their classic period of the late 70's to early 80's (1982's Signals and 1984's Grace Under Pressure are ass-kicking albums and are the end of Rush's golden period that starts with 1977's A Farewell to Kings). Every song on here just flat out rocks and shows you why these guys are some of the best musicians ever, assembled into one of the best bands EVER. From the unbelieve drum solo in the middle of the ridiculous YYZ to the best version EVER (yes, it even beats out the studio version) of Freewill, to some of Rush's longer epics like Xanadu and Jacob's Ladder, this album delivers from front to back. If you are starting to get in to Rush, this is the one live album of theirs you need to start with. Nearly flawless.

Free Music Review: A great live album.
Hit: 5 Stars

This was another album that Rush put out that was fantastic. No, flawless. I couldn't think of a better setlist. Sure, some stuff was not there that I wanted, but it doesn't matter. Put 13 Rush songs together and the outcome is always amazing. I especially enjoyed the solo in the middle of YYZ. It was definitely not what Neil is doing today (his solo's today are 8minutes in length!) but it was him working to find his groove and perfect the solo. Nonetheless, this album was great start to finish and not one song was bad or destroyed (Rush doesn't make bad songs or destroy the good ones live. [waves hand like a jedi]) Even if you are a beginner, this album just goes to show you that Rush live is as spectacular, if not even better than, their studio works, which rock!

Free Music Review: rush has and always will - rule
Hit: 5 Stars

It's nice to hear YYZ on the prog rock station 4 u rock n metal and let it prompt to write a review about a band I've followed since I was in high school. To watch and hear their own growth and maturity and the way they've remained a band to listen to and to watch them go through their personal situations has been an honor. Exit...Stage Left is a wonderful compilation of live tunes still worth a listen, and if you're out there and just being introduced to Rush, what a great way to go through 2112 and Xanadu and find out what an incredible group of musicians came together and have stayed together all these years...digitally remastered versions of this album I wore out on the old stereo only make the experience sweeter....Viva Rush! Long live Geddy, Alex, and Neil!

Free Music Review: The real music of a power trio
Hit: 5 Stars

Trios, like Rush, are groups where musicians get maximum from minimum. This is better understanded in live albums. There are no doble recordings, no effects and so. Rush's "Exit stage left" is another step on their live albuns, after "All the world's stage". In "Exit", Rush introduce more instruments, like the intense use of keybords, a bigger drum and guitar pedals. All to prove they are only three, even so the sound seems like of one of an orchestra. Geddy plays bass, sings and play keybords in the same music, for exemple. I particulary like a lot the live version of "The red barchetta", one of the musics that show more love for cars. ("a brilliant red Barchetta from a better vanished time").
