Free Music Notes for Exit Stage LeftFree Music Review: Perfection in a CD Case Hit: 5 Stars
Having listened to all of the Rush live albums (well, all of the Rush albums period)I found this one to be the best live album and up there with the best albums. This is a CD released at the time of Rush's third magnum opus, Moving Pictures, and showcases Rush's best music. Not only are the songs musically superior, sometimes even to the original versions of the song, they are lyrically profound and moving. A beautiful guitar intro to The Trees, Broon's Bane (an original composition) is also included. A recommened buy for any Rush fan, young or old, new or die-hard. - A Thirteen Year-Old Die Hard Rush Fan!
Free Music Review: This is an absolutely great live, and beginners album. Hit: 5 Stars
Every album from the release of Fly by Night has been the greatest album, but this takes the cake. It has many exiting parts to it, but the sound is just tremendous. From Lee's bass lines in La Villa Strangiato to Lifeson's sweet melody of Broon's Bane to the rhythm of Neil Peart's drums, this is an all around great album to start into if you are a beginning Rush fan. I believe this due to the lack of pure instrumental sounds in some live albums. It is a basic starter for the Alex Lifeson in the making. Other albums to check out are 2112, A Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres, and All The World's a Stage.
Free Music Review: Brings back memories, excellent remastering Hit: 5 Stars
This was a favorite album of mine back in high school, and listening to it now brings back *so* many memories. For the Rush fan this is an exciting and essential album for your collection. The listener is catching Rush right around the time of the Moving Pictures tour, and a time when they were still very much in their prime. The entire disc is outstanding, but favs of mine are 'Xanadu', 'The Trees', 'YYZ', and 'La Villa Strangiato' (which at the time of the recording was the essential closer for Rush concerts). Brilliant performances, great recording, and excellent remastering. 5 stars.
Free Music Review: Awesome! Great Live Album! Hit: 5 Stars
this album really rocks! the amazing execution of the classic and famous rush songs( for example that great drum solo on YYZ) wont let you down. I would say this is a great album for a person who is just starting to be familiarized with the music of rush. Songs like LA VILLA STRANGIATO ( for me , the best of the album) will blow you away! dont miss broon's bane, that one is also a GREAT SONG...Imagine all these great songs combined with the enthusiasmic screams of the public! Buy it! believe me, this album will not dissapoint you!
Free Music Review: Timeless.... Hit: 5 Stars
This CD is a must. For anyone that judges this band for their most recent music, needs to give this a serious listen. I agree with the other reviewers about the fact that this has no "bonus" tracks. These were the days of the phenominal Rush live shows. They are still great live, but the energy they used to put into a show (and this album) will never be matched by any band. I have seen them live 11 times starting in '77 and when I put this one in the player and shut my eyes, I feel like Michael J. Fox in a DeLorean.
