Free Music Notes for Snakes & Arrows Live 2 CD SetFree Music Review: -=- Another Live Album, Another Winner -=- Hit: 5 Stars
Documenting the recent Snakes and Arrows Tour, this latest Rush live release brings you to the show. Generally, this live release is a good cd to enjoy. Obviously, as the band gets older it becomes increasingly tough for Geddy to reach some of the high notes. For a band into their 50s they can still rock the daylights out of you and their energy puts some younger bands to shame. If you are a fan and you are here, you do not need this review to buy the cd. If you are here because you are curious, give it a spin, it is well worth the price, just like a Rush concert.
Free Music Review: WOW! Their catalog is SO deep, they unearth these great tunes they havent't played in 20 yrs or more Hit: 5 Stars
WOW! RUSH is awesome...I LOVE this album. I got into Rush around the Counterparts album(93 maybe?) I thought they were watering down their own market with "another live album". The problem with that is, they have such depth in their catalog, it's (ALMOST) a new set list. Case in point "Digital Man". I don't think they've played that since the "Signals" tour in the early eighties. I forgot how good it is. I bought this on the strength of their past work. Now I see they've still got it!!! I wonder if they'll play Bangkok??? Nahhh...they never play Bangkok. Peace!
Free Music Review: Just Turn It Up! Hit: 5 Stars
Fantastic live album from RUSH. Yes, they have quite a few live albums but with such a great new studio album (Snakes & Arrows) they had to do another one. Plenty of new material on here to satisfy fans of the new album and plenty of older stuff to satisfy the rest. "Subdivisions" never sounded better and "Witch Hunt" is just as great. You won't be dissapointed with this set. I just wish they would have broken the CDs up live the show was. The first set ended with "Dreamline" and that's where the first CD should have ended too.
Great performance!
Free Music Review: Going Somewhere! Hit: 5 Stars
I've been buying albums and attending concerts ever since Hemispheres. I appreciate this band and all of their talents as well as relentless drive to express their creativity. As for this compilation, it is good to hear the song arrangements, especially since many of them have not been played live since their initial release. Having attending the S & A Tour, both events, I can easily recommend this release to anyone who wants to hear a few of the old standards, some archival vault stuff, and excellent live renditions of the newest material.
Free Music Review: Another great, live Rush CD Hit: 5 Stars
Like all Rush CDs, this one is great too. I especially liked some of the variations they added to the songs (e.g. Alex's plinking guitar part in YYZ -- nothing big, but different).
Another thing I'd like to comment on is Amazon's customer service. When I received this 2 CD set, CD 1 was missing. I did a return via Amazon's website - nice and easy - and had my replacement CDs within two days. I've never had a problem with an order like this before, and I was pleasantly surprised by Amazon's handling of it. Thanks.
