Free Music Notes for Rushmore: Original Motion Picture SoundtrackFree Music Review: Get this Soundtrack Hit: 5 Stars
I can't say enough good things about this soundtrack. So many great songs plus the Mark Mothersbaugh score fits nicely into the mix. The only thing different from the movie is the version of The Who's "A Quick One." in the movie, the version is from the Rolling Stones "Rock and Roll Circus." The soundtrack is another live version, not as raucous. If you want the "Rock and Roll Circus" version, pick up The Who's "The Kids Are Alright."
Free Music Review: The best soundtrack ever, man! Hit: 5 Stars
As far as I am concerned, this is the best soundtrack ever recorded! I am usually not too big a fan of music from the 70's (since I was born in the late 80's) , but this soundtrack is a masterpiece. If you are having a bad day, listen to this soundtrack. It doesnt have a boring or non-upbeat song on it, and will cure what ails you. If it is not obvious about what you should do so far, take some advice from N Sync (or whatever Boy Band this quote is from) , and Buy, Buy, Buy!!
Free Music Review: Soundtrack=movie Hit: 5 Stars
Listening to this soundtrack brought to mind PERFECTLY all of the most memorable scenes from the movie. It's rare to find a soundtrack not chock full of buzz artists put on the soundtrack merely for hype purposes, but rather one where every song was chosen to fit a theme and complement a scene in the movie. Even the stuff that was scored by Mark Mothersbaugh specifically for the movie fit right in and was good in and of itself. A perfect complement to a perfect movie.
Free Music Review: the most glorious achievement mankind has ever seen. Hit: 5 Stars
this disc is without a doubt a glorious achievement. saved from the orthodoxies of disney and the mundane drabble of generalities, it brings together power, beauty, and redemption. it is only a token of the work of art that it represents, but still it presents a glimpse at the most torridly intriguing film i ever have seen. the soundtrack is much the same (ps- my reccomendation is that amazon offer the lyrics to these songs, especially "rue st. vincent")
Free Music Review: Missing Songs Found!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I love this album passionately, so let me start off by saying that.
Anyway, the only missing songs (and probably some of the best) on the album are "I am Waiting" by the Rolling Stones, and "Jersey Thursday" by Donovan. "I am Waiting" was playing when the 3 main characters (Max, Mrs. Cross, and Mr. Blume) were all sitting down to their own dinner. "Jersey Thursday" was playing when Max was burning the leaves on the lawn at Rushmore. Just thought I'd add that in.
