Free Music Notes for Rushmore: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Free Music Review: Best soundtrack ever
Hit: 5 Stars

This is probably the best soundtrack ever. My husband and I played this over and over. We played it at our wedding reception during dinner. It is the most perfect blend of rebellious british invasion rock with melodic instrumental tunes. I am not normally a fan of instrumental music, but this Mark Mothersbaugh stuff is - it's hard to describe why - awesome. I loved the movie too.

Free Music Review: Fitting Music from an Excellent Movie
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD has a great variety of songs. From the start, with the eccentrically wonderful "The Hardest Geometry Problem In The World" & the subdued "Nothing in This World Can Stop Me Worryin' Bout That Girl" from the Kinks, to the sharp vocals from "A Quick One While He's Away" by my favorite, the Who. Also good is "A Summer Song." BUY THIS

Free Music Review: so darn groovy
Hit: 5 Stars

See the movie, buy the soundtrack. Mothersbaugh's magic music makes mighty mojo for wes anderson's two fine films (Rushmore and Bottle Rocket). The soundtrack for bottlerocket is also totally brilliant and worth every penny, if not plenty more. The pieces scored by mothersbaugh himself are perfect at setting the mood for these films, and are charmingly clever in their own right.

Free Music Review: Mothersbaugh at his best
Hit: 5 Stars

Mark Mothersbaugh's music couln't fit better into this classic movie. His music is greatly responsible for making Rushmore such a fantastic film. Classic songs, such as Concrete and Clay, The Summer Song, and Oh Yoko make this c.d. alone worth purchasing. It is a rarity to have a soundtrack as good as it's movie, but Mothersbaugh and other great artists really pull it off.

Free Music Review: A great collection of songs
Hit: 5 Stars

Rarely have I come across a soundtrack so thoughfully put together. The highlights for me were The Kinks "Nothin' in this World Can Stop Me Worryin' 'Bout that Girl", and The Who's "A Quick One". As a huge Kinks fan, I was stunned when I heard their song. It's certainly not one of their better known songs, but it is one of their best.
