Free Music Notes for Captain Corelli's Mandolin / Stephen Warbeck (2001 film)

Free Music Review: Beautiful and Mellow
Hit: 4 Stars

Since there were complaints about having someone do a review of the cd, here goes. To start off, if you loved the movie then the music naturally goes with it. There are a few different versions of the love theme 'Pelagia's Song' that for me are the highlight of the cd. However, there are other tracks here that are just as peaceful and soothing to listen to. The only other soudtrack that i can compare as far as the mood it creates is A Walk In The Clouds by Maurice Jarre. Russell Watson does a fine job of singing the vocal version of the love song but he isn't Mario Lanza; Still the song has a beautiful effect. As i stated at the first though, this soundtrack is for people who really loved the movie. To buy the music on its own would leave most people kind of dry in my opinion (but i thought the movie was really good).

Free Music Review: Beautiful and dramatic Greek and Italian music
Hit: 4 Stars

The soundtrack to Captain Corelli's Mandolin is very beautiful with dramatic and moving selections from the film as well as vocal selections of opera and Italian music of the 1940's which are performed by the cast during the film. The film is about and Italian army officer in occupied Greece at the beginning of World War II when the Italians fought the Greeks in Albania. He falls in love with a beautiful Greek woman. There love affair is fought with many barriers; historic, cultural, and emotional. The soundtrack captures these movements well.

Free Music Review: FYI to Misled Rosie in NY review
Hit: 4 Stars

I really enjoyed this CD but was also surprised to find that the song used in the movie trailer is not on the CD. I read your review saying that you had hoped to find the song for your wedding reception music. In case you are interested the song is called 'Tonight and the Rest of My Life' by Nina Gordon. I found it on the internet so you should be able to grab it from somewhere. Hope you find it for your wedding. Good Luck.

Free Music Review: Confusing trailer
Hit: 4 Stars

Also believe the trailer is misleading, but in all the soundtrack is befitting of the film and setting. For Rosie who wanted that song so much, I finally tracked it down. It's "Tonight, And The Rest Of My Life" by Nina Gordon" Should have been on this soundtrack, but since i have not seen the movie, not sure if it's in the movie at all.

Free Music Review: Good CD
Hit: 4 Stars

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I decided to get the cd becasue of the previews. I really wanted to know who sings the song during the previews. It kind of sounds like madonna. If anyone one knows please let me know. The song kind of goes like this - feels so right tonight and the rest of our lives.
