Free Music Review: Oh man!
Hit: 1 Stars

I just heard this CD and Phillips picks up exactly where she left off with Boot & A Shoe and Fan Dance. The same stripped down tone, with the same drum beats playing methodically throughout the CD! Nothing has changed on this CD, what a bore! I was hoping she would go back and make some creative lively music again like she did in the 90's (like her first several GREAT releases). Why a singer would get STUCK on a mundane style and tone like this, I cant imagine! I know there will be about 20 die hard fans and reviewers who will come and say what a great new album, and how creative and unique Sam Phillips is. The problem is, in reality there are VERY few of you out there. Nobody is buying this stuff. Instead I have bought some other new CDs like the new Coldplay for example. Bands that really make lively music and have some actual fans (and coming tours). If your lucky, you might see the new Sam Phillips tour at a local bar near you (playing a capacity of 200 folks). No thanks Sam and DON'T play it again!

Free Music Review: Another dissapointment!
Hit: 1 Stars

I didn't like the last CD (Boot & A Shoe) and this might as well be the same CD. The style is exactly the same. Leslie has more or less made the same album three times now! Fan Dance was somewhat interesting (change of pace) but not a permanent style I would ever prefer for this artist. I still like the earlier CD's especially The Indescribable Wow, Cruel Inventions, Martinis and Bikinis! I also liked The Turning in 1987 under Leslie Phillips which was a foretaste to come of her next few albums. But since 2001 after she signed on to Nonesuch Records, the formula has become predictable and boring. In my opinion it's time for a change (hopefully the next CD?). I believe a VERY good CD could still propel this artist into a bigger spotlight. She has a good fan base but not the material to break out of her shell and to become noticed. I am not saying become commercial and make radio friendly music, but at least make something more catchy and inventive!

Free Music Review: We miss Leslie Phillips
Hit: 1 Stars

We miss Leslie Phillips when she shared her faith through her artistic talents. This is a disappointment.
