Free Music Review: Tremendous talent, every song is marvelous!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I'm a 43-year old guy who's been trying to think outside the box musically lately. I've been burned by artists whose "hit" song is the only decent cut on their disk, but this is totally NOT the case with "Little Voice". I heard just a small cut of her "Love Song" on a Rhapsody commerical on TV, and just loved the piano and the voice. It took several times to finally catch and spell her name right, and man was it worth it!! Every song showcases her strong, sultry voice and the piano is fantastic. From "Love Song" to "Morningside" and "City", every cut is just a joy to listen to. If a groove could be cut in a CD, mine would have one, on the whole thing. I just love this CD and haven't felt this way about a new, modern artist since I fell in love with The Barenaked Ladies. It's great to know there is some new, fresh talent out there, it gives me hope for the music industry that wonderful artists like Sara Bareilles are plying their craft and putting out super quality music that appeals to people of all ages and musical tastes. I hope she wins a Grammy! Excellent, don't be afraid to buy the CD, every song is great!

Free Music Review: A Flawless Album From A Big Voice
Hit: 5 Stars

Sara Bareilles' CD, 'Little Voice,' is one of the best CDs my ears have had the pleasure of listening to. Every song is flawless, a task which I thought impossible because I had become so attached to all of her old renditions of these songs. For those hesitant in how the new sound is, don't be. She takes these songs and changes them, they grow and morph into (while not necessarily better) amazIng works of art. 'Love Song' is one of the best 'jump-around-summer-songs' I've heard of late, and 'Gravity' will put tears in your eyes with its beauty and simplicity. 'Vegas' is a song I can play over and over, while 'Between the Lines' (the only song I had not heard before buying the album) is a somber and tragic song. And while 'Fairytale' may never sound as good as it does with only Sara and her piano, this new version fits very nicely with this perfect album. Sara's words are strong, her voice phenomenal, and her piano skills abundant, and this album is the perfect testament to the sheer beauty of everything that is Sara Bareilles. Is it too soon to be anticipating her next album?

Free Music Review: Fun, frisky CD
Hit: 5 Stars

Lots of reviews for this album here, but what it comes down to is this. The songs rock...Sara's got a knack for lyrics, she can flat-out sing (the high note she nails in the bridge for Come Back Soon raised the hairs on my arms), the songs have clever arrangements, and the whole thing ties itself up into a ridiculously good album that I was surprised to absolutely love. "Morningside" is a freight train of a pop song, with a killer beat that every so often relaxes for just a measure or two and then thumps back when it's not expected, and "Love On The Rocks" is brilliantly written with sublime harmonies. Towards the end, there's a point where the harmony lines vamp down with Sara's lead, but keep following where you'd expect them to drop, and it's just the sexiest thing ever. "One Sweet Love" and "Gravity" are beautiful ballads. If there's a weak song, it's "Fairytale", just because it comes off a little too centered in the gimmick, but still, it's cleverly written and you can't blame her for having it on the CD. Love it all. Can't wait for the next one.

Free Music Review: Worth the Listen
Hit: 5 Stars

The opening chords of "Love Song" draw you in immediately, and Sara's enduring vocals keeps you listening. "Vegas" plays on the modern notions of happiness and dares the listener to rethink the cultural acceptances. "Bottle It Up" is easily surpassed by the endearing "One Sweet Love," where Sara Bareilles prays her time is "not wasted." "Come Round Soon" is a cheeky and daring examination of a lost love, while "Between the Lines" is a more heartfelt and painful admittance of never noticing what was before her. "Love on the Rocks" has been featured in a Jennifer Lopez movie (Monster in Law) and is one of the more memorable tracks, while "City" and "Gravity" absolutely steal the listener's heart with their memorable chords and brilliant lyrics. My absolute favorite track is "Fairytale," a rather bitter song that asserts, "I can't take no more of your fairytale love..."

Overall, this album is a sure and worthy musical experience - worth every penny... Sara Bareilles' lyrics are brilliantly executed; and she is even better live...

Free Music Review: A throwback to better days in music
Hit: 5 Stars

There isn't alot of real "artists" coming up in the American music scene these days, but somehow one beat the odds. She actually is making it because of real talent & not the shallow pop fluff that seem to be pushed by the U.S. record industry. The album title is quite contrary to what is actually here. Sara Bareilles has one BIG VOICE !!!! She has very smooth jazz flavorings, she can make a quiet ballad very dynamic & she can belt it out when she has to, but most important, she kicks a-- on piano. The big hit was "love song" but the real masterpiece on the CD is the hauntingly beautiful "City". I bought the album because of "Love song", but the rest has mostly a nice jazz feel to it. The majority of the songs may be a bit "girly", but still very well written & performed. I'm 50 years old & although I try to keep up with new music, its been hard to find alot of things I really like but this is one. I think Sara B. is a piano counterpart to the guitar playing KT Tunstall, another of the rare breed of "artists" today.
