This album is so good. I came across Sara while reading a magazine in a waiting room. At the end of the article, it said download "Love Song". So, when I got home, I listened to about 2 seconds of it, said "what the heck?" and bought it. Turns out, it was a GREAT song. Then, I decided to check out the rest of her album, and, turns out, "Love Song" wasn't the best on there!! The entire album is totally worth it.
She sounds a *little* like like Fiona Apple, I guess because of the sound of their voices, but other than that, their styles are *completely* different. (And I am a Fiona fan!!)
and now I'm a Sara Bareilles fan too! (that's ba-rell-is) :D

'Little Voice', released in 2007, apparently contains her 'greatest hit' to date w/'Love Song'. Her music, delivery, lyric is all hers...a jazz/pop rock/vocalist cross that didn't win acolades from her recording label. Background suggests she wrote 'Love Song' in response to the company demanding a love ballad. Listen to the lyric. I bought this and 'Kaleidoscope Heart', via Amazon for all my dearest friends. She's changed my life. The woman is playing the Iowa State Fair in August 2011. Being a native, I hate August in Iowa. She's definitely paying her dues. A true music lover, would listen to one song, any song. You'll know the talent when you hear it.Free Music Review: Sara's CD is the Next Best Thing

It has been a LONG time since a new musician has grabbed me the way Sara Bareilles has. We caught her performance of Love Song on the Tonight Show and bought her CD on a whim. WOW! Now that I have read the lyrics and played along with my guitar (yes, she's that inspiring!) I am happy to report that the rest of the album lives up to the brilliance of the first single. Catchy melodies, great hooks and poetic lyric writing... It doesn't get any better than this. Favorite songs: Between the Lines, Fairytale, Morningside and Gravity. If only we could still purchase that elusive first album... My prediction is that Little Voice will be HUGE.Free Music Review: A lot of different flavors cd

I rarely will write a review of a cd that I have not completely purchased all of the songs.But I have purchased "Love Song" and have decided it's my new favorite song.I came back to Amazon to check out her other songs and I have to say I am highly impressed with Sara.I am in love with just about every tune on here and this is going to be my cd for 2008.I have read a lot of the other reviews and I am glad to see that at least one agrees with me about a Carole King similarity.To me she has that flavor and there is even a little bit of cool poppy Maroon 5 sound in there too,to me at least.She seems definitely well worth the purchase.Free Music Review: Addictive pleasure.

Little Voice has easily become my favorite CD. I find myself singing the songs to myself throughout the day. Sara Bareilles has an amazing voice. There is a nice jazz quality to her voice and the music. You really get to appreciate the strength of her vocals on songs such as "Come Round Soon" and "Gravity". Out of 12 songs the only one that I don't love is "Many The Miles" being a bit to gospel for my taste. I find the more you listen to this disc the move you discover. There is a love song on here for everyone, happy, breaking up or even those looking for the perfect mate. Give this CD a try, you won't regret it.
