Free Music Notes for Eden (US Release - 16 tracks)Free Music Review: Eden Hit: 5 StarsI've had this album previously but it developed a skip so I needed an error free one.
Free Music Review: album review Hit: 5 StarsI love this woman. I've not found a less than fabulous album yet.
Free Music Review: Beauty At Its Best Hit: 5 StarsThere is no question that Sarah Brightman is amazingly talented. But, her music is not as widespread as her talent deserves simply because she is so unique. If you are new to her music and pick one of her purely classical tracks you may be scared off. However, there are two aboslute gems on this CD that most anyone can appreciate.
I have to start with the ethereal "Deliver Me." WOW. The emotion and depth in that song is so painful and so beautiful. I like it best played so loud that there is no room for other thought or emotion. Her words convey such a basal message that most everyone can relate to it for one reason or another. Admittedly, the incredible music and unmatchable voice help it to be such a masterpiece. The other favorite is "Eden." Again, the instruments melded with her voice create a song that you simply want to melt into. There are other great songs, but those two are worth the purchase of the CD, themselves.
Free Music Review: Very beautiful renditions of film themes... Hit: 4 StarsI was especially pleased to hear her perform versions of several film themes. Track 9, based on the cue "Rupert Bear" from Gabriel Yared's score for "The English Patient", and Track 10, based on the cue "On Earth As It Is in Heaven" from Ennio Morricone's score for "The Mission". Being both a fan of film scores and Sarah Brightman, these lovely tracks stand as my favorites from "Eden".
Free Music Review: Quite possibly Brightman's best Hit: 5 StarsHaving only discovered the world of classical crossover this year, it wasn't long before Sarah Brightman, the English soprano who crashed the scene with her career defining performance in Llyod Weber's "The Phantom Of The Opera," registered under my radar.
I have listened to many of Brightman's albums, from her latest "Harem" to her other works such as "Time To Say Goodbye," "La Luna" and "Dive." I believe that "Eden" is her best to date, and stands as a collection that anyone, classical fan or no, can enjoy.
A warm, hypnotic, and touching mix of operatic pieces, pop covers and almost electronica inspired beats, I have yet to find another album that matches what Brightman has accomplished. Neither Charlotte Church of Haley Westenra have matched her artistic vision and flawless arrangments, and I doubt they ever will.
Stand out tracks include "Eden," "Deliver Me" "Nessun Dorma" and "Only An Ocean Away." It is here that we see what Eden is truly about, and hear Brightman at the very top of her vocal ability. The rest of the album features many treats as well, though these are the selections I find myself playing over and over again.
In conclusion, I hope you decide to give a more low key genre a try, and I certainly hope you buy this album. I hope that Brightman will produce more albums like Eden in the future, for they truly have the capacity to stand the testiment of time!
