There is no question that Sarah Brightman is amazingly talented. But, her music is not as widespread as her talent deserves simply because she is so unique. If you are new to her music and pick one of her purely classical tracks you may be scared off. However, there are two aboslute gems on this CD that most anyone can appreciate.
I have to start with the ethereal "Deliver Me." WOW. The emotion and depth in that song is so painful and so beautiful. I like it best played so loud that there is no room for other thought or emotion. Her words convey such a basal message that most everyone can relate to it for one reason or another. Admittedly, the incredible music and unmatchable voice help it to be such a masterpiece. The other favorite is "Eden." Again, the instruments melded with her voice create a song that you simply want to melt into. There are other great songs, but those two are worth the purchase of the CD, themselves.

It's difficult to describe such a diverse and lovely album. Unlike other artists, she doesn't sing as though her life depended on it; she sings as though she were making new life.Opera purists will, no doubt, consider this pop, and pop purists will, no doubt, consider this opera. Though I'm not a devotee of either, I love the way Sarah Brightman sings all these styles--and more. Songs like "In Paradisium" and the inspirational (and, at times, wonderfully depressing) "Deliver Me" ring of New Age. Sometimes, the crossover blends in a single track, like the magnificent "Anytime, Anywhere." Songs like "Bailero" are soothing while "Nessun Dorma", a powerhouse opera song written for a tenor, rings powerfully. Sarah's songs also strike the romantic chord within us, like the melancholy "Last Words You Said" and the heart-tugging "Only an Ocean Away." In short: stunning.
Free Music Review: Just as good as the extra tracks CD! Hit: 5 Stars
Hi again Sarah fans. EDEN is a great work of art. My heart goes out to track 16. It is a beautiful song written by Richard Marx. Not only did he write this song, but he also sings backup. There couldn't be a better duet than this. This song is the only song I don't have on my bonus set.I bought this EDEN when it was released in 99. Of course I recommended it to my friends. Then I gave my 1st 2 copies away. I have now the original and the 2 CD set. The album is Sarah's 2nd best classic/pop crossover CD. I won't bother to say much about the songs, as I have already reviewed the double. Track 15 <NESSUN DORMA> and track 16 <THE LAST WORDS YOU SAID> are perfect back to back. It's because the suspense is built, then quiets down into a beautiful haunting love song. Sarah and her producer Frank Peterson are a great team. I hope they continue making great music together. Buy this CD. I don't have to say anything else.
Free Music Review: fabulous voice/music/clarity/style, veiled some by poor mix Hit: 5 Stars
ETHERIAL - - - SPIRITUAL - - - UPLIFTING - - SUBLIME - - - OTHER WORLDLY - - - THOUGHT PROVOKING - - - DREAMLIKE - - - MAGICAL ! This musical experience is one of the best albums I've ever purchased. It's wonderful! I do however agree with another Amazon customer/reviewer that the background music is a tad too overpowering. The engineering is not as good as it could or should be, I'm afraid. I still enjoy the album immensely though and would buy it again. I LOVE IT ! I can hardly get this music out of my head, (nor would I want to). Thank You Sarah Brightman, - - - for being you! If you're a "seeker or a thinker", I know you're going to appreciate this "vaporous" material. In some ways, it's a little like a canvas to "paint" your thoughts on. Words can hardly convey my praise for this work! This will be a tough act to follow up with, even for Sarah! (BUT PLEASE DO!)

This is just a magickal experience. I can't stand people who say that Sarah has a tiny voice. True, on "Nessun Dorma's" dramatic finale, the orchestra sort of drowns out her voice, but that could be attributed to poor mixing. "T`u," "Lascia ch'io Pianga," "Nessun Dorma," "Eden," "Deliver Me," and so many others make this CD worth having.I had the pleasure of attending Sarah's concert at the Wang Center in Boston. Her shows are more than concerts, they are musical experiences. Each song was better than the last. She started with "In Paradisum" and ended with "Time to Say Goodbye (con t`e Partiro)," and just when you think she couldn't possibly sing any higher, she does. Any naysayers out there, attend Sarah in concert. If your opinion doesn't change, then you are beyond hope of appreciating a beautiful voice.
